Months ago, Finnick learned from Burt Becksworth about a number of construction projects Chad had contracted on the building. At the time of discovering the occult room, it was assumed the construction was to create the secret areas behind the auditorium, however, Kat's finally managed to hack into NOVA financial records and trace the contracts down.

It seems there was another, much more expensive, project, adding restructuring to the locked off basement level, to which there is no access through the public elevators. Schematics show that there is one accessible elevator shaft that goes to the lobby, which requires a key to activate the lower floor. Thomas considers it a better bet, however, to use the nearby quarry underground entrance through which construction trucks used to reach the site. Thomas will be leading a team through the underground tunnel in hopes of finding a space large enough to host the 'experiments' that Chad and company were afraid of the Knights discovering while nosing around the building.

Meanwhile, Jack wishes to discover if there are any remaining 'relics' in the building, and if so, to confiscate or document them. The heightened security within the building has made access much more problematic, and its taken awhile for him to acquire the security protocols necessary to be able to create a looped camera feed. Now that's everything's in place, he'll be infiltrating the building to override the cams, allowing Buffy, Elena, and Rafael to join him on the fourteenth floor for one last sweep of the occult room.

The situation has also grown more complicated in other ways since eavesdropping on Chad's cabal. In a gutsy move, Burt Becksworth has created an inescapable situation for Rafael and Finnick, forcing them to comply in preparing for an album and tour, lest they destroy their own reputations and become infamous in the business for backing out of their 'contracts' and letting down legion of NOVA fans. Finnick is an ideal situation to try and discover more about Burt's plans, however, and perhaps to find out incidental information concerning Chad's "Back the Fans" tour.

[ there's the sound of something slamming into the wall, as if thrown ] That's right. Start walking. And take your goddamn whore with you, you steaming shitstain.

[ and out of the office sweeps chad, in that weird black outfit, cape flaring dramatically as his cane thunks against the floor. his eyes shift to the two on the couch, but he doesn't drop his smug, condescending little smirk as he marches past them without a word. ]

[ and behind him, looking entirely amused by all this, is the tall blonde woman who was at the meeting thomas videotaped, who the others identified as the mysterious mind master. her eyes linger on them both, something mocking in them, as if she knows something they don't.

in a moment, they're heading into the elevator. ]

[Myri could get used to this kind of distraction...

When Chad and the blonde make their grand exit from Burt's office, Myri gasps and pulls back, putting on her best surprised and sufficiently clueless look (Bluff 13). Playing bimbo arm candy can have it's perks. Silent perks.]

[finnick simply looks dazed and confused (but not the movie) because he was that into it obvs (bluff 21). what happen?

[ out of burt's office issues a very charming: ] CUMFUCKER.

[Myri jumps at Burt's exclamation. Now her surprised look is quite genuine. She lowers her voice, making sure to keep her arm candy persona on just in case the others are in earshot.]

Maybe you should go talk to him? [Reluctantly, she gets up off his lap and takes a peek over to the door to Burt's office but she's not looking very hard (spot 9)]

That's what I'm here for, isn't it? [with myri no longer on his lap, he rises to his feet and slooowly peers in the doorway.]

If there isn't, I suppose you won't mind talking to me now.

[ he either believes him... or doesn't curr. POURING HIMSELF A DRINK NOW. ] Bad fucking news, that's all anybody's ever got for me these days. [ he regards finnick keenly for a moment ] You. [ he waves his glass a little in his direction ] Do you know what I was banking on with you, and that magic ass of yours?

My golden fucking ticket. [ he gives a hollow laugh, smothered by gulping the alcohol down ] See where that got me.

[he'll just take that as a sign to come on in.] I heard. I could have stood to be a little more informed, all things considered. [YOU KNOW , ABOUT THE TOUR I'M APPARENTLY GOING ON .....] I'd have been even more appealing.

[starfucker]

Yeah, well I wasn't about to try to recruit you onto a sinking ship. Doesn't work so good to say "Hey, we're just about balls up, come hop in bed with me and mine and get royally fucked." [ he slumps back down in his chair and only then seems to process what finnick just said ] What, are you gonna tell me you could do better?

[he holds his hands up defensively.] No, no! Not at all. I'm just trying to say that announcing a tour without telling me first, it was ... very sudden.

What part of 'playing hardball' aren't you getting here? I don't have time to jump through hoops with that manager of yours. If he were ever even fucking around. [ SIGH. he leans back. ] Look, I'll level with you. We need to blow you up, bigger than Bieber. And that's what this tour's for.

[ a beat ] You and Giovanni, though god knows you're the easier sell.

He has a very busy schedule. [he defends des with a half-hearted shrug.]

[Oh hey. Myri is still here and she's remembering her part to play here.]

Finnick and Rafael? On tour?

[Stars are shining in her overly exaggerated eyes (bluff 14 if anyone even cares about her excitement)]

Well, for one, Giovanni's got an ace up his sleeve. I finally remembered all about his little audition when he first came to see me in Chicago. Brought that total hottie with him -- Eterna Jade -- trying to pitch some music that was outside her marketable range. Waste of a bod like that to go soft. But that's not the important part. She had ... something, I can't even describe it, but it made the suits sit up and listen. Hell, I was all ready to sign her on when the two of them disappeared on me. Everybody went missing on me that weekend, seems like, including the manager of the branch, Dirk. Bastard never so much as showed up again.

Anyway, point is, Giovanni was hot for that chick, musta been nailing her, you can tell by the way they had eyes for each other. And I want her along for the tour. Doing duets with both of you. Whatever it takes. He's gonna get me that girl.
