[ ... :| ] Fine. Point taken. Anyways, that's the kind of thing we deal with. Wynn assigns us missions based on intel gathered from around the world, and packs us off to take care of things.

[So basically it works the same way as The Family, but you know, they're the good guys. And actually Good, not fake good like Cassel's stupid FBI shtick.

Wynn evaluates the likely skill sets needed on each mission and assigns us to them based on our sects, once you've become a full Knight. For example, a mission likely to see a lot of combat would get more members of the Dragon's Hide, Light, and Fire. An investigative mission or one about an artifact might see more members of the Hoard.

[As he talks, Lila translates it into Zacharov terms. Which works until the sects and then it's just dbgdkhgls. Which is not a language she speaks.]

You, really? No offense, you just kind of struck me as Hoard, who I assume are the intellectual ones.

Because that's what my father was. I looked up to him since I was a kid for it.

He was a knight? [Obviously, but for some reason she's surprised, that it ran in families. Or that Eric had a dad and wasn't sprung fully formed from a pit of grump.]

[Like father, like son. How many times had that been said about Lila? She can't remember but it was probably a lot. And it's annoyingly close to home, that he wanted to be like his dad.]

Didn't you ever want to do anything else?

Usually within a couple months. Sometimes sooner. It depends on when Wynn gets a call out for something he feels you'll be useful on.

Ideally, at least sometimes.

I don't think there are any requirements.
