[His words thrilled her and brought with them the first real sense of belonging she could believe in, not that she belonged here with the Knights or even in this world, but with Dimitri, wherever that led her and like he had thought before, the whole reason for coming here was about coming to him. That much at least, she was sure of now.

Her hands continued to move over every exposed inch of his body, skin against skin, her heartbeat racing in time with his as he explored her the same way she explored him. Her hand sought his, bringing it between them, still marvelling at the little things that seemed familiar to her, flashes of memories she wanted to believe, Rose’s lips pressing against the calluses on his hand, as if they might soften the battle hardened skin that she now held against her cheek.]

I - [Those words again wanted to come out, needed to even but she still felt foolish in saying them.]

I think I love you.

[But that was a lie because she didn’t think it, she felt it, it just seemed too crazy to say out loud, even if it was no more crazy than falling into bed with somebody who was more or less a stranger to her.]

[Her lips were gentle and soft against his palm, and as she placed it against her cheek, he held her face gently, far more so than anyone with hands as hardened as his should be able to. His thumb ran over her cheekbone as he looked down at her with a mixture of awe and fascination, the emotion within him tumbling and explosive.

He knew exactly what she meant. He knew it, deep inside him, but saying it was difficult. How could he love someone he didn't know.

Even if he did know her in a strange and instinctual way.]

I feel it too.

[He said quietly as he dipped his head down, his lips seeking hers.]

And I don't want to fight it.

[Rose exhaled against his lips, their breath mingling together, relief washing over her when he said those words because she wasn’t alone in this. She wouldn’t be launching into something she couldn’t begin to try and understand and have to try and navigate it alone and it meant that being here, doing this, it didn’t just feel right, it was right.]

Then don’t.

[Her lips pressing to his, parting so she could taste him once more, torn between ridding herself of the sweats that acted as the final barrier between them and continuing to explore every inch of exposed skin as his naked body pinned her to the bed.]

[It was dangerous, this thing that they were doing. They were new in this new world, both the actual dimension itself and this organization they'd joined within in. And now, he'd found himself already irrevocably attached to her in a way he didn't think he was capable of.

He needed her in a way that didn't make sense, and it was proven to him with every touch and every hungry kiss, things that he now took as she urged him to let go of that last shred of self-control.

Because in the future, when it came to her or the mission? He was positive he'd choose her.

His hand fell to her hip, tugging on the pants she wore and dragging them downward, his body craving the skin that hid beneath it.]

[Which was why perhaps they shouldn’t be doing this. They had both taken a vow to serve the Knights, one both took very seriously, Rose far more than she would ever let on and surely what they were doing now would make that difficult in the future and yet, deep down she knew that whether they did this or not, it was already too late. He already mattered more to her than anything else, even if she couldn’t explain why.

Rose shifted her legs to help him rid her of the last of her clothes, her lips pressed against whatever inch of exposed skin her mouth met, pausing only to steal one more hungry kiss as if she needed it as much as she needed air, kiss after kiss halting their progress until finally it was just them, her legs parting to welcome him between them as she took a moment just to drink in his features.

She wished that she could remember everything about him but there was something strangely exciting about this, the sense that she was falling in love with him even when she knew she already felt that way. Before them lay so many ‘firsts’ and it started with this, the most significant one of them all.]

You’re mine… and I’m yours. [She murmured, echoing the words he’d spoken earlier before she sealed her mouth to his.]

[Her legs spread for him, and he could feel her thighs pressed against his sides as his head dipped down to meet her lips as she finished speaking. His legs shifted against hers, her skin still so soft regardless of her toned physique. Her curves fit perfectly under his hands as he slid one of them over her hip and down between them, making sure she was ready before he positioned himself and sank into her in one smooth motion.

Breath shuddered out of him, hot against her mouth as his forehead leaned against hers. She was everything he'd thought she'd be, warm and snug and perfect, as if their bodies were made to fit together.

He held himself there, soaking in that first moment of union, thinking that there might very well be nothing in the world better that this. Better than them.]

[There was that brief flutter of nervous energy that made her chest quake, Rose’s forehead pressed against his, trying to keep her breathing steady, holding it then as he pressed against her, begging entry, the ache between her legs bordering on painful before he soothed it with one, long push of his hips.

A soft, barely audible sigh passed her lips, tension she hadn’t even known she’d been carrying easing from her shoulders as her whole body relaxed beneath his, sinking into the soft mattress as his breath mingled with her own. His clean scent, the wet hair that dripped onto her bare shoulders, every sensation burning itself into her memory so that she might never forget anything about him again.

If she hadn’t been completely sure what it was that he meant to her, now she was positive and Rose stopped caring if it sounded crazy. Let her be insane if it meant she could stay like this with him.]

I love you.

[Sealing those words as truth as she pressed her lips to his.]

[Being one with her, hearing those words on her lips before she pressed them against his seemed to heal something inside him that he hadn't realized was broken, as if he were all at once finding a piece of himself that had been missing.

He knew it was important, as the memories flitted through his head and then disappeared behind the heat that their bodies created, and as the sensation passed, leaving nothing but blissful content rolling inside him, his pleasure rumbled behind a hungry gaze, which fixed on her even as their his teeth tug gently on her bottom lip.

He began to move, slowly at first, his pace picking up speed as the seconds passed, his hand urging her leg to hook around his hip so that he could reach deeper, to fill her up completely, to claim her as his own.]

[Rose’s hands moved over his body, fingers tangling in his hair, the other arm wrapping around his back so she could keep him close as she hitched her leg high in his hip, moaning against his lips as with each stroke he sunk deep inside of her, their bodies fluid motion as she rocked against him, in sync with Dimitri.

A shuddering sigh turned into a moan, Rose’s dark gaze burning into his, having to fight to keep her eyes open rather than give into the pleasure because she wanted to watch him, to see his face as he loomed over her, every twitch of muscle as the pleasure wrapped around them, the thousand unspoken messages that were passing between them. She hadn’t needed to say those three words, she was saying them now and so was he and it made her heart swell in her chest.]

Dimitri… [Stealing a kiss, her lids heavy, eyes drunk with something far more powerful than lust as her legs wrapped around his body, gently pulling him into her as everything else ceased to exist.]

[His fingers gripped her thigh firmly beneath them, keeping her leg locked where it hitched around him, rolling his hips into hers in perfect rhythm, meeting each other fluidly over and over. No matter what he did, he was hungry for more, soaking her up with each thrust of his hips, tasting her with his lips and tongue, claiming her with his hands and his teeth.]

Roza...

[Her name unfurled like a purr from his lips as they met her mouth in another kiss. Rose would never have to steal them, when they were freely given. He would have kissed her night, but it wouldn't have been enough, and they both knew it. Their bodies craved more from one another, begging to be close, melding into one another in perfect sync.]

[He was both strong and gentle, losing himself in her while still attentive to her every moan and sigh, her name as it fell from his lips sending a wave of emotion through Rose, curling around in her chest and pulsing like a living thing inside of her as she shed any worries that might have dared to linger in the back of her mind.

They were so in tune that they seemed to predict each other’s every move, Rose shifting when he did, speeding up as he did, lips meeting his just as he moved to kiss her. It wasn’t enough to just lay back and get lost in the pleasure of his body moving against hers. She needed more with every second that passed, legs moving against Dimitri’s as he rolled on top of her, creating a friction that only seemed to heighten their senses as their kiss deepened, her touch more insistent, desire morphing into desperate need.]

[It was one of the many things he loved about her, the way she was a constant participant, her body pressing back against his every time he moved to meet her, making them complete and utter equals in this dance.

His arm slid up the leg she had hitched around him, pulling it higher so that it rested on his shoulder, her flexibility apparent as he was able to do so with ease. He loomed over her, the angle allowing him to push even further inside her. He would have melted into her if he could have, but had to content himself with filling her to the brim, letting skin touch wherever it could, keeping her as close as possible.]

[With that shift, her moans became louder, Rose’s mouth falling open, her head sinking back against the pillows. She used the leverage of her leg on his shoulder to roll up beneath him, fingers stretched out so that she could graze his skin, eyes trying to stay open again so she might admire the chiseled lines of his face. Dimitri's hair fell forward, a curtain that hung around his features, keeping the hunger that filled his eyes just for her.

Rose’s vision became unfocused, her hair mussed by the pillow as it spilled around her shoulders and as the driving force of his body intensified, her moans turned to low cries that filled the room as he did her, her own features contorted with pleasure, a hissed Yes passing her lips as she began to lose her already tenuous grasp on control.]

[As Rose's head leaned back into the pillows, Dimitri's head pitched lower, his forehead resting in the valley of her collarbone as he exhaled hot breath against her chest. His hair flared out along her shoulder and her throat, and he turned his head slightly so that he could continue to press his lips against her pulse point.

Her cries echoed loudly into his ears, and he matched each one with a pant or a low groan of pleasure, his lips turning up into a grin at the 'yes' that passed through her parted lips. His grip on her tightened as his thrusts grew more intense, pressing her entire body into the mattress with each one.]

[Rose’s hand moved to cup the back of his head, fingers running through his long, damp hair as hot breath tickled her skin. She lowered her face, her own breath tickling his scalp and moans vibrating against it now so that he felt every shudder of pleasure that rolled through her, fingers curling around the length of his hair.]

Dimitri… [His name close to a warning; that she couldn’t hold back no matter how much she wanted this to last, stamina not in question here but the pleasure bordering on overwhelming as he drove his hips to hers with powerful thrusts. Rose’s hands became needy as she searched whatever exposed inch of skin that she could, gripping him tighter as climax loomed, teeth sinking into her lower lip as if to stifle the cries that now came one on top of another, trying to drown his out.]

[Those words did for Rose almost as much as the physical experience itself and she did let go, let her voice fill the room as she moaned and cried out for him, her voice punctuating every thrust of his hips as he filled her over and over with deep strokes that beckoned her closer to the edge.

It came on like a tidal wave and her fingers dug into his body as she bucked up beneath him, Rose’s face awash with pleasure as his grip on her seemed to be the only thing that kept her from soaring off, every nerve lit up, sparked by his touch as he went harder, deeper, chasing his pleasure as much as her own and his name fell from her lips, a cry that filled the room and announced to him if not half the Castle, that she’d finally found the place she was meant to be.]

[Feeling her tighten around him like that, his name coming out in that breathy cry is more than enough to make him chase his own climax, and he hides his face in her shoulder, teeth grazing the skin as he clenches his eyes shut and briefly sees and hears nothing. He only feels her, and everything else if just a faraway thing that's momentarily forgotten in the peaking moments of his orgasm.

It takes everything in him not to collapse into her, his arms somehow managing to hold up enough of his weight to keep from making her uncomfortable, though his usually strong and muscular body feels weak and shaky in the aftermath.]

[There was a rush of warmth, Rose’s breath catching in her throat as he gave one final thrust, her body tensing, squeezing him, clinging tighter to him as he shuddered and stilled on top of her.

Her leg dropped from his shoulder as she felt him relax, sweat dotting her brow, her chest heaving as she sunk back on the bed, arms loosely wrapped around his body, still wanting that closeness even now as she was riding out the haze brought on by the post orgasmic high.

She pressed her lips to his cheek, her quick breaths hot against his skin, Rose nuzzling against his face as a soft, shuddering moan passed her lips, a sigh that was both happy and satisfied before an unexpected bark of laughter could be heard.]

Not what I had in mind when I came here. [Smiling against his cheek as she breathed him in and slowly exhaled.] Not that I'm complaining.

[As their breathing slowed, and his heart stopped beating hard enough to nearly jump out of his chest, he exhaled quietly against her skin. He shifted against her slightly, hesitant to move to away from her completely, and instead just sliding off to the side so that he could relax without crushing her. His arm was still draped over her body, as was one of his legs, and his own face nuzzled gently into her neck.]

I'm sorry.

[Though his tone was amused, which meant it wasn't much of a honest apology. His arm bent at the elbow, so that he could prop himself up slightly against it, his head leaning over her, his hair falling forward and nearly tickling the side of her face.]

[Her only protest at his shifting was a low groan as he rolled to the side, Rose following him with her eyes, head turning to face him, a soft smile playing across her lips as she still caught her breath, her skin warm and glowing with the flush of exertion, dark eyes shining brightly as she held his gaze.

There was not one hint of regret coiling inside of her, everything about this moment perfect in Rose’s mind, her hand moving so that her fingertips would graze his cheek, the curtain of privacy provided by his hair making the moment all the more intimate.]

Liar. [Playful as her nose brushed against his, her fingers moving to tuck his hair behind his ear, eyes raking over his features as she crept a little closer to him, seeking his warmth and closeness.]

[His fingers instinctively began to play with her hair, curling the strands around them over and over in what seemed like a soothing gesture, more for himself than anyone else. From time to time he'd look down to admire the glossy strands as he ran his thumb over them.

As she shifted closer, so did he, as he still wasn't content to be apart from her.]

You caught me.

[His eyes glittered darkly with amusement as he lifted that lock of dark hair to his lips and kissed it before he finally let it go and instead let his fingers drift over the silhouette of her body before letting his hand rest on the curve of her hip.]

[A shiver ran down her spine as he played with her hair, her eyes closing for a moment as if to drink in the feel, as if she could actually physically experience the gentle caress as he twirled a piece around his finger.]

I did.

[Soft laughter passing her lips, the meaning of her words different to what they could have been because in a way, she had caught him and it was, kind of perfect really. She’d known from the moment they met in the ballroom, no, from the moment she’d seen him at the squiring that there was something about him, she just hadn’t imagined that it would be anything like this.]

Things… [Her voice took on a slightly nervous tremor that she worked to hide.] Aren’t going to go back to… before, right?

[She didn’t think so, didn’t think that was even possible because she couldn’t imagine pretending like they weren’t something more than just colleagues, like she didn’t feel in her heart that she loved him. He hadn’t said it though, that he loved her too and there was still that little spark of fear that she needed him to extinguish.]

[He could sense it somehow, her hesitation and her slight doubt in what had passed between them, and he knew he had to soothe her, to reassure her. Rose was strong, that he could already tell, and he didn't want her to be caught in this vulnerable place. Not when it was completely unnecessary.]

No. It's a bit late for that now.

[He said it with a smile, amusement touching the corners of his eyes.]

I love you.

[Because he hadn't said it yet, and he hadn't wanted to when lust could have potentially been construed as the fuel for his words. He said them now, instead, with his mind completely clear, and the words ringing true in his ears and in his heart. His mind may not have remembered her, but his body and soul certainly had.]
