[As he promised Faye, Gold seeks out Nessa to discuss the matter of private lessons for her squire. Unfortunately, because life likes to complicate matters, she spends her time not at the castle, so it's been difficult finding time to get away.

But here he is, downtown. At the headquarters. Because I am tired and lazy and cannot be more descriptive than that. IT IS A VERY PRETTY STREET. I HAVE GOOGLE MAPS OPEN AND EVERYTHING.

Anyway. Gold. In the lobby. Talkin' to your receptionists.] Is Nessa Harvey in today?

[SHE DAMN WELL BETTER BE.]

[ The main lobby area boasts an impressive silver dragon statue, about seven feet tall, immediately to the right of the entrance. The room is done in comforting wood and mahogany tones, and there's an array of tables and chairs across the room to the right, as well as a small piano. Statues of King Arthur and Lancelot flank the hallway that continues straight beyond the lobby, and there's a staircase leading up, with wooden dragon-shaped banisters, immediately beyond the bathroom door to the right.

On the left are two doors, and one of them leads into a room which also has a small reception window open, where Gold is received. Between the doors hangs an ornate blue and silver tapestry with even more dragon imagery. It is an exercise in subtlety all around.

The woman working reception, an elf with violet eyes and blonde hair, looks up at him, apparently recognizing him from around.

"She's here, yes, right down the--" and she's cut off as Nessa herself appears from the back hallway. ]

You're supposed to say 'depends who's asking'. They never learn.

[Subtlety is for other people. Gold gives the elf a thankful smile and then turns it allll on Nessa.]

Difficult finding good help these days, isn't it? [He waves a hand, indicating the decor, because if you think he wouldn't comment on it, you... don't know how much of a jackass he is. But it's okay, because nat 20 charisma check, that's why.] But at least your decorator has a firm grasp of our motif.

It's entertaining, particularly, when you think of anyone wandering in to mistakenly visit our "cover organization". What must they think of us.

That we're very well-read and want everyone to be aware of it. [Or are Arthurian legend fans. We won't talk about how Wynn nearly passed out when he met King Arthur.

Anyway.] Now correct me if I'm wrong, Ms. Harvey, but you're Faye Chamberlain's knight, are you not?

I have the distinct -- well, pleasure might be a strong word, yes.

She's something else entirely. And I hear she's quite skilled with her magic, even if she seems to limit herself to setting the other squires on fire.

It's not her skill level that's the problem. As you say, it's more about her, er, relations with her potential teammates.

Well, I can't say much for teaching her proper manners, but I do have some perspective. I was recently a squire, myself, and while Hasmed was a great mentor, there was a lot I had to learn on my own about magic. Someone with Faye's lack of discipline likely shouldn't be given that opportunity. And she will chase it down, regardless of anything you do. Stubborn squires are in great supply around here. [A beat] I'd like to give her private lessons. It might ease your mind some, knowing she's learning a little bit of discretion with her talents.

How very selfless of you to offer. [ there's a leading glint in your eye that says she's not sure if she buys that it's not getting you anything bro ]

Well, my own squire has no interest in magic. I might as well teach someone. [no you're wrong. he's totally selfless in this.]

I don't suppose it will hurt. But I want full reports on her progress.

I wouldn't dream of not informing you of the proceedings. Or handing off the bill for whatever property damage she might be responsible for.

Luckily, footing the bill is usually Wynn's territory.

Well, it's a small price to pay for knowing he'll have another competent knight on his hands.

I'd be interested to get your perspective on the girl's personality, as well. I've been holding off on advancing her for a few reasons.

Her lack of forethought being one, I take it? The knights have a number of hotblooded individuals, certainly, but I think Ms. Chamberlain's situation might be a bit more complicated than simply a temper. She's ambitious- rarely a good combination, left unchecked.

Exactly the word I've been searching for. I'm not eager to claim that her heart isn't in the right place, but... at the same time, I think it could do with a little adjusting.

A course correction. [He chuckles.] And I'm surprisingly adept at them. She will learn. I can certainly guarantee it.
