[ The castle can be a happening place, even on more mundane days. This log is for random interactions over the course of this half of the month.

Maybe you can join the Dragon's Eggs sect. [His bluff check of 12 means he's got a decent straight face, but any close observation will notice the mischievous look in his eyes and the hint of a smirk. Fucking with the newbie, yep.

But he's not gonna fuck with the hot sauce. He turns the burner off and dips a finger in to taste it.]

[Myri hides a small smile and nudges Spike with her elbow, knowing better than to fall for that nonsense (sense motive 20). She likes him in good spirits, though.]

I've been in and out of the castle for weeks. I'm afraid I've lost track of what new faces are actually new. [She looks genuinely sorry for that because she is. She wants to get to know everyone okay.]

I'm used to randomly meeting people, though I think I was normally in your position, I haven't been new somewhere in a while. [Violet emerges from a cabinet triumphant, with a frying pan!]

A. Dragon's Eggs makes it sound like a nursery, B. Pretty sure I'm headed for the Hide. [She says, wielding a frying pan. Just saying. She's not trying to be intimidating though, it's just... good timing. (Intimidate 11)] Thats what Kat thinks, at least.

[His will save of 14 means he's not very impressed. But he still grins.] Don't let her teach you to shoot.

Kat's a fine shot! [Will save of 21. Sry Vi, you are not that scary.

She will defend her Knight to the end. Only after a moment does she realize what Violet's comment might mean.] Are you her new Squire, then? [Her face brightens with a grin.]

Yeah, she's my knight, or however you say it.

She's never shot any of her teammates, I'll admit. [COUGH COUGH RAFAEL AND MARK.] But fine's a bit of an exaggeration.

[Myri gives Spike a playful shove.] Don't you let her hear you say that. She'll turn your hair bright pink.

She was mine as well! I was her last Squire. I suppose that makes us sisters of sorts.

[Thats really dorky and makes her think of a sorority, which no, but Myri is so sweet and kind, Violet can't help grinning at her.] That'll be a change, I'm used to brothers.

[Shush. Myri doesn't even know what a sorority is. She just considers everyone in the Knights her family.]

I didn't have any siblings all. [As if on cue, an indignant flywacket saunters into the room. Myri's familiar is not the typical sort of cat or bird, but rather a mixture of both. While in the castle, Amaranth does not hide his large feathered wings, so have a giant black cat with purple eyes, wings, and talons strolling up to you, Violet. He blinks a few times, then looks at Myri and opens his mouth.]

Merawk! [Myri sighs and shakes her head.] You are as much my family as anyone can be, Amaranth. [She turns to Violet and Spike with an apologetic smile.] He gets jealous.

[Wow that is a handsome... Thingy. Violet grew up with monsters and a three headed poodle and an Augrey who used stuffed animals, she had seen some weird shit in her day. But Amaranth is not a monster and he is super awesome looking. Although Vi is still trying to figure out what he is.]

Why would he be jealous? Have you met you, dude? I'm blanking of what could be better.

[And she is like 110 billion percent serious. If Cerberus were here she would be the jealous one because her Momma is enthralled.]

[Amaranth preens, strutting about before coming up to Violet and rubbing his face against her calf. Myri just laughs lightly and shakes her head.]

You'll give him a big head.

Are you familiar with flywackets?

Fly...whatsits? [Uh that would be a no for familiarity. Sorry guys, she's a little distracted by Amaranth at the moment, reaching down to pat his head if he'll let her.]

Flywacket. That's what he is. A distant cousin to dragons, if you believe the myths.

[Not only does Amaranth let her pat him, he stretches his neck to turn the pat into a pet, essentially using her hand for his own purposes. Myri raises her eyebrows, a little surprised.]

He's not usually so friendly right away. [She tilts her head slightly, as if listening. Her expression turns to slight annoyance as she addresses the creature.] You don't have to remind me. I know that we are safe here. I just meant that you're usually harder to please.

[Clearly the familiars in this castle know whats what because Vi is just gonna adopt them all and have a wild menagerie in her room on the weekends she has Milah. Party in Vi's room!]

So... are you two like telepathic?

[She is just going to take the height difference out of the equation and crouch down to pet him better because she is a dear.]

I can hear him, yes. [She doesn't really think of it as telepathy, though. It's just the way Amaranth speaks to her, much like the voices that guided her before her arrival in this world.

The flywacket it just soaking up all this attention. He would join that party, okay. He likes Vi. She gives good scratches.]

He's been with me since I was very small.

I can see why he's family then. [She smiles, a little wistful, but still kind. Hearing Myri talk has made her miss Cerberus though. Stupid poodle.]

[A wisdom check of 17 means that Myri is intuitive enough to catch that wistful tint to the expression.]

Do you have a familiar?

No, but I had a dog. No offence. [She makes an apolgetic sort of face at the flywacket for comparing him to a dog, however ambiguously.] I don't remember anything of my childhood, but I think Cerberus was in it. [A pause.] She's sort of a different kind of pet though.

Cerberus... [She ponders the name, having no previous connection to it.] I think they're all different sorts here.

[Amaranth doesn't seem to mind the comparison, only midly disgruntled at the notion. He purrs loudly and squawks at Myri.]

Amaranth seems to think you should find yourself a pet for the castle as well. Someone to keep him entertained.

That's a little presumptious of you, bro. What if you kept my pet entertained, hmm? Besides, what would I even get?

[Amaranth turns his head up to Violet, big purple eyes blinking at her. Meanwhile, Myri covers her mouth, trying not to laugh.]

He says it only must be large enough for wrestling or small enough to carry while he flies.

[She steps closer and swats the flywacket lightly on his backside.] Amaranth, be nice. You've only just made a friend. Don't ruin it with your ridiculous demands.

[She laughs softly at Myri and Amaranth's interaction. They qtpies.]

So basically... a hedgehog. [Because she doesn't like cats and a puppy would make her sad and it is the first thing that pops into her head.] Or maybe a moose.

[Amaranth perks, as if something feels like a memory.]

A hedgehog would be lovely. But really... don't listen to him. He's just bored most of the time. Unfortunately the nature of our missions lately leave him with little to do in the hotel room.

Oh no, I've wanted a little pet since I got here, Amaranth is just giving me a good enough excuse to stop... waiting. I would ofer to let him stay and hang out with me while you were gone, but you two seem really close.
