[This log is for any in-flight interactions on the Knight's SUPER STEALTHY X-JET jet plane ride to the mission site. Feel free to make your own threads/threadjack, etc. The flight time is approx ten and a half hours. Get to know your teammates, talk about the mission, ask questions, etc. etc.]

and no, he's not going to let anyone else take the reins over the next ten hours. it's his excuse for not talking to any of you. :)

[ jaina spends a lot of her time lurking in the entry of the cockpit looking longingly at the pilot's seat until christos finally drives her off with enough acerbic comments. she seems really interested in the jet, however, and goes exploring as much of it as she can. ]

[Faye has been watching Jaina. She actually eavesdropped on part of Chistos' little comments and observed the girl skulking around the jet. Eventually, she gets bored and decides to see what she's up to.]

So were you some kind of pilot or something? Or just big on video games? [Those are the only two options she can come up with for why she's looking at this plane like a long lost lover or something.]

The first one.

I don't remember much, but I remember flying. It's like I've been doing it since the day I was born.

[reallywicked]

Aren't you just full of surprises. You don't happen to remember if you also had a keen sense for tracking down missing families, do you?

[flyingsolo]

Wouldn't that be a little too convenient?

[reallywicked]

[She shrugs] Sure, but it doesn't hurt to ask. If we ever had a mission where something randomly needed to be set on fire, you know I'd sign up like that. [She snaps her fingers and smirks.]

[flyingsolo]

I'm sure there's gotta be some call for that... somehow.

[reallywicked]

Fingers crossed. [She says with a shrug] I can probably do more, but the Veil wiped me clean on the know-how.

[flyingsolo]

Sucks, doesn't it? The reboot treatment.

They say sometimes things you've learned are easy to get back, but you'll never remember how you learned them the first time.

[Faye leans hard against a wall.]

Tell me about it. I figured out I have magic. And it feels like it's been part of me my whole life, but I can't get it to do anything half the time.

Have you figured out anything in particular that helps?

[reallywicked]

Getting really pissed off seems to do the trick.

[flyingsolo]

You mean you channel your anger?

[reallywicked]

I'm working on the channeling part. Right now I just tend to get angry and then something [or someone] catches fire.

[flyingsolo]

Aren't you worried that it's going to happen when you don't mean it to? Someone pisses you off and whoops, up in flames?

[reallywicked]

Maybe people shouldn't piss me off then.

Because strangers are supposed to know what you're capable of?

That doesn't really sound like my problem.

It could be, if you set the wrong guy on fire.

[She pauses, actually thinking about that consequence, but doesn't seem too terribly concerned.]

I guess we'll have to keep our fingers crossed.

[flyingsolo]

I'll keep that in mind.

[ solace stays in his seat the entire time, spending half of it with his eyes closed in sleep or meditation - it's hard to say - and the other reading books with titles like 'The Mother of All Magic' and 'The Life-Giving Sun' ]

[Sooner or later someone is going to make the mistake of calling the prickly cat some derivation of cute or trying to pet him and shit will go down. Until then, Tybalt had found himself one of the more comfortable seats and curled up in it to sleep.

Later on he'll be trying to see if this jet has any of those little alcohol bottles other planes do]

[Miles has his seat reclined back as far as it will go and is tossing a balled up piece of paper in the air over and over. He's bored, but fortunately also easily amused.]

[As she walks by, Faye reaches out and snatches the ball of paper out of the air. She leans against the chair in front of him, waving it in his line of sight.]

Bored?

[cuivre]

[Eyebrows raise in amusement as his head turns toward her, eyeing the ball as he sits up a little straighter. But just a little.]

Naw, it's practically a party in here.

[He smirks.]

Aren't you?

[reallywicked]

[She tosses the ball in the air and catches it.]

Totally. [She gestures to the empty seat beside him.] Scoot over. [Because as funny as it would be to climb over you, she is more inclined to make you move for her princess ass.]

[cuivre]

Yes ma'am.

[Said with an amused smirk as he sits up and shoves himself over into the next seat.]

Good boy. [She says, taking what was previously her seat for herself and tossing him back his paper ball.] So what's your story?

[cuivre]

[He catches the paper, then proceeds to drop it at his feet. Clearly pretty girl has his attention way more than any crumpled up piece of paper.]

It's an open book.

[No really.]

I was born here. On this side of the Veil, anyway. I have a thing for really fast cars. And I found out a handful of years ago that I'm not entirely human.

[He tilts his head.]

How about you, beautiful? You got one? It's probably more interesting than mine.

[reallywicked]

[She keeps her gaze on him, incredibly interested as soon as he mentions cars. It's a danger thing, okay. And her curiosity is perked more when he drops the not human part. But he's bringing the conversation back to her and she can't help but talk about herself okay.]

It would be more interesting if I could remember anything from before I showed up here, I'm sure. But apparently I'm a witch. [From the way she says it, she's not in the least upset about it.]

Tell me more about this 'not entirely human' thing.

[cuivre]

[He's just as into the whole danger thing. It's part of the reason he's even here. Adrenaline junkie, oh yes.]

A witch, huh? What's your area of expertise?

[He's not upset about his, either, though he is somewhat nonchalant about it.

He reaches up to the collar of his shirt, pulling back to fabric to reveal the copper colored scales that decorate his upper back.]

Dragon-blooded, as it turns out. And here I thought I had a really bad skin condition.

[reallywicked]

Fire, mostly. [She gives him a sly little look.] Started with dreams of fire. I've got a way with heat, flames licking their way up to take over an object, swallowing it up.

[When he pulls back his collar, she peers at the scales. Never being one to ignore an impulse, her hand moves up, fingertips grazing over a visible scale.]

Dragon, hm? So you'd know all about fire too.

[cuivre]

[One eyebrow raises at her words.] Sounds dangerous. [Also hot. In both the fire way, and the not-fire way.

His head tilts slightly to the side as she reaches for his skin, not minding in the least.]

Naw, not really. From what I've looked at, there are lots of different kinds of dragons, and not all breathe fire. [He gives her a crooked smile.] It certainly be willing to learn, though.

[reallywicked]

It can be. [She says in response to his comment on the danger.] Mostly for someone else. [Her fingertips drag from the scales on his back, trailing a line over his neck before she pulls away.]

So if your not the dragon that breathes fire, then what kind are you? [She's genuine curious but also just wants to keep him talking. This is way more interesting than anything else she was doing.]

Mostly. 'Til the house burns down around you anyway.

[Said in jest, of course.]

Copper, according to the grandmother that I thought was crazy. Turns out she's not.

[reallywicked]

A copper dragon. [She sure has not looked into anything about the shadow world to know that this is a Thing.] What does that even mean? You breathe pennies?

[How do you shot dragons?]

[His ancestor was probably born in the Shadow World, but he's born and raised here. Probably why he doesn't know much about it either.]

I think it's related to elements or something. Copper is...earth, maybe? Hell if I know. Like I said, I thought she was crazy, so it sort of went in one ear and out the other. I'd do some research, but libraries aren't really my thing.

[reallywicked]

Mine either. Guess we'll just have to wait and see if you can do anything exciting. [Her eyes flash on the last word, a teasing dare evident in the words.]

You don't need special powers to do exciting things, beautiful. Trust me on that one.

[But he's grinning mischievously anyway. He's here for a reason. Excitement, danger, and everything that went with it.]

Trust is great, but I prefer proof.

[cuivre]

We're on a very private jet on our way across the ocean to investigate a string of very mysterious kidnappings.

Certainly has the potential to be exciting, don't you think?

[reallywicked]

Potential? Sure, but I'm not seeing any action. All I see is you playing with yourself. [He glances poignantly down... to the paper ball.]

[cuivre]

[He laughs.]

And what kind of action are you looking for 30,000 feet in the sky?

[reallywicked]

There's plenty to do... if you're a little creative. [She looks over towards their frumpy Knight companions. She likes messing with them. It's a problem.] What do you know about the bald guy?

[cuivre]

[His voice lowers a bit, in order to keep people from overhearing them.]

Solace? Probably about as much as you do, or less. Why?

[reallywicked]

[She shrugs] Well he seems just as much fun as Christos, so I was thinking that we could try to get them to lighten up.

[cuivre]

Something tells me you aren't just going to tell them knock-knock jokes.

[His expression is approving, though.]
