The Knights split up, Tia taking Rose, Dimitri, and Amrita in the rented vehicle towards two of the more distant sites from the hotel, while Eric leads Aurelius and Lila through the back alleys of the city to somewhere nearby. It's late by now, and Chicago is alive with the sights and sounds of nighttime in the distance. A light rain falls, dripping off the overhangs of the roofs above and pooling against the sidewalks.

Thanks. [ she rewards eric with a small smile like positive reinforcement for being a nice guy, but it's really sort of involuntary. ] Except I doubt it's over since Rose insisted on bringing her vampires bestie with us.

[Rose had been prepared for a fight on this one and it probably says as much when she has to do a double take at Eric's words, stopping the words from coming out of her mouth before she makes a pointless argument against something she's already won. (Will Save 20 Total & Listen 18).

She looks from Eric to Davin then back again. She hadn't actually planned ahead to what she'd do once she got him away from there but then her eyes slide to Tia, trying to gauge how she felt about it, what with the whole... Davin attacking her and all that. (Wisdom/Sense Motive 20 Total)]

Corsone will kill him if he finds him. [She hesitates a moment then finishes that thought.] And I owe him.

[telekinection]

[ it's hard to miss tia's side-eye. this obviously is not on the list of her favorite plans but she seems to recognize this isn't the place to argue about it. ] We'll talk about it at the hotel.

[Rose can be pretty oblivious when she chooses to be but yes, she catches that one. The trip back to the hotel will buy her time to construct one of her Rose!Logic arguments.]

We should go then. [Sparing a thought for the bodies on the floor.] But what do we do about them?

Winchester's got that one. The victim... [ he hesitates a second, but shakes his head ] I'll dial 911 and we'll have the police come pick it up.

Ten bucks he's sans brains when they find him. [ they're just leaving corsone a snack pack. ] Where's Aurelius? [ she meant to ask this earlier, but got distracted but all the death and deathiness. ]

In the cars, with Amrita. C'mon. [ she frowns back at dean as well, but then hurries their asses to the vehicular unit. AW YIS LET'S FAST FORWARD back to the hotel mothafuckas for some wrap-up. ]

[ lila commandeers a comfortable chair, draping herself across it with her legs dangling over the armrests. she pops a couple of pills like pez before breaking into a candy bar from her bag like nbd. she didn't get her cinnamon sticks, bane of this fucking mission, so she's got to cope with drugs and chocolate. ]

[ davin stays near the door when they enter, arms folded as he uncomfortably looks between them all. tia speaks up first, moving to the window. ]

Alright. We may have accomplished our mission goal, but we have one last thing to settle.

What we're doing with him.

[It may not go unnoticed that Rose has chosen a position between Davin and everyone else in the room, a somewhat subtle If you want to get to him you have to come through me to anyone that might have certain ideas on what to do with him. She means you Boozy.

Her eyes slide to Davin, not entirely sure what to make of him as a Vampire now that she had more than five seconds to contemplate it. It wasn't like he was Strigoi, but he wasn't human either. Then again... neither was she.]

What are his options? [His, not theirs. She might be able to get him this far but she couldn't make him do anything. Then again? This was Rose, didn't mean she wouldn't try.]

[ miraculously lila stays silent, looking at eric with thinly veiled curiosity. she can think of a few options, herself, but very few of them are going to be nice. okay, so she doesn't stay silent long... she looks at tia, but she's pretty much addressing eric. (sorry, tia.) ] Is this a brainstorming session, can we all contribute ideas?

I don't see why not. [ he pins down another wall, arms folded himself as he looks between them all. ]

We could set him free in the wilds and let him slaughter people because we put a stop to his system of leftovers so he has no other choice. We could set him up with another family -- because like it or not they're always going to have bodies for him to munch on. We could send him back to Corsone -- [ she holds up a hand in case davin tries to protest ] -- but not even I am that cruel. [ liar. ] We could take him home with us and assume Rose can keep him in line for the rest of forever, except as far as I know vampires are immortal... and that's not a human thing.

[ a beat. ] Or we could kill him.

[behindcloseddoors]

[ davin shifts his attention to rose, movements nervous. ] If you take me with, he could track me back to all of you. Put you and your... [ he looks around, what the hell even are you people ] clan or friends or whatever in danger.

Why the hell does this even gotta be an argument with you people? She said it herself - there ain't no way to make sure he's not gonna kill again unless you're willing to vamp-sit 24/7.

[ she snorts quietly, getting up to grab a water bottle from the mini bar to wash down her pills, answering dean as she passes. ] Did you forget the little chat we had about a certain aggravatingly stubborn person?

[It takes an immense amount of will-power to not be out of her seat and wrapping her hands around somebody's throat right now, (Will Save 17), the Dhampir glowering at both Lila and Dean as she gets up from her seat and puts herself between Davin and the rest of the room, not needing to say 'you have to come through me first' to make that one perfectly clear.]

Nobody. Is killing. Anybody. [And yet from the scowl Dean was receiving right now, she might be willing to make an exception for him (Intimidate 25).] And last check? You don't get a say in this, boozy.

What do you mean he can track you? [ The question clearly meant for Davin , Rose not looking directly at him but turning her head enough so that she could catch sight of him in her periphery.

She knew Vampires better than anyone here aside from Dimitri but Rose knew Strigoi, not what Davin was. If Davin were Strigoi, he already would have ripped her throat out.] We can fix that right? Tia?

[Never mind the fact that whether she wanted to admit it or not, both Dean and Lila were right, this wasn't a simple thing she was wanting to do here and the smart thing sure as hell didn't involve taking him with them but Rose didn't exactly see things in black and white when emotion got involved.]

I know there are other Vampires. [But she wasn't talking in general terms here, she was talking in code; she knew there were other Vampires involved with the Knighthood. She knew because she could feel them back at the Castle.]

There are. [ tia's tone is cautious, but she's looking at davin intently. maybe more than just looking, too, since, y'know, telepath. ] You said that you were doing what you could to avoid actually killing people. Drinking only off the very recently deceased.

davin looks at her incredulously, then shifts his gaze back to rose, before looking at the floor, teeth gritted.

"Why do you think? I used to hunt these things. Monsters. The last thing I wanted to do was let myself become one. And maybe you'll call me a coward, for not just offing myself. But my fight's not over." he shakes his head. "There's still more I can do. There has to be."

tia looks over at eric, and they seem to be having a private mental conversation for a moment, before he finally purses his lips together and nods. ]

Davin, what if we could off you some way to continue that fight?

[ he shoots rose another glance, almost confused, but then nods slowly.

"Tell me what I'd have to do." ]
