The Knights split up, Tia taking Rose, Dimitri, and Amrita in the rented vehicle towards two of the more distant sites from the hotel, while Eric leads Aurelius and Lila through the back alleys of the city to somewhere nearby. It's late by now, and Chicago is alive with the sights and sounds of nighttime in the distance. A light rain falls, dripping off the overhangs of the roofs above and pooling against the sidewalks.

I can't do it. [She shakes her head a little, voice quiet before her mouth presses into a line.] You guys can run commentary between Rose and I.

[And Rose stares back at Eric. Rather openly. Not even trying to hide her staring with all the wide eyes and mouth open a little, glory.

It's entirely possible that rather than horrify her, her respect for Eric just went up about three notches.

What, no. [She doesn't want to go with Rose. She very obviously thinks this is a horrible idea. Very horrible. Completely and unequivocally horrible. There is a reason she didn't volunteer to go with them.

She opens her mouth to protest, but closes it, shaking her head.] Fine.

Cheeks now flaming red, Rose grips her stake tighter and shoots a glare in Eric's direction as if all of that was somehow his fault.]
