The date of the dual concerts is fast approaching. While his teammates have been involved on intermittent missions striking at other laboratories like the one they discovered under NOVA, Finnick has been honing his pop star cover and working non-stop on an album and publicity. Elena and Myri have spent considerable time around NOVA as well, posing as part of Finnick and Rafael's entourages to keep an eye on activity from Chad and company.

For all intents and purposes, however, they've evinced little sinister behavior at all. Observing the artists merely seems to reveal singers preparing for a tour, and Chad spends little time in the office. When they do see him, however, he is always accompanied by the Mind Master. If it weren't for the drama lurking behind the scenes as the power struggle between the Becksworth brothers draws to a head, it would almost seem peaceful.

[ he just turns a completely unconcerned gaze on her, which seems all the more unsettling. her threats seem to mean absolutely zip to him. ]

In fact, I've always been a little jealous I must admit. She has such a ... talent. Better than even me.

[Jade's always been at the center of this, hasn't she? She's the one this group wanted but couldn't have. But her connections to them other than that? Myri couldn't recall hearing anything about it.]

I saw her in a club once. [Not a lie, but not really the truth.] What do you mean you go back? [She presses the question again, stepping closer to him. Fears be damned, she needed to know more.]

I mean what I said. [ he leans even closer when she closes the gap so that she can smell the alcohol on his breath. ] We have history.

But I'm more interested in the future.

[Elena wrinkles her nose. Gross.]

So what, you guys used to date or something? Did she break your heart?

[well, he probably was lbr. too bad finnick crit failed that bluff check and made it obvs he just wanted keijen off myri's dick apparently. ]

[At the sound of his voice, Myri turns her head. She doesn't know how to explain everything or if Keijen only knows about her and Elena's connection to Jade??? There really wasn't much resolution in that conversation...]

We were just... getting to know some of the other talent.

[Her bluff of 15 is complicated in that she's trying to make it sound like she wants her lie to be convincing to Finnick. The bluff is for Keijen, though, because why lie to her team??? But she doesn't want to give up that they're all connected if he doesn't already know.]

[ rafael looks pissed too, but more because of the subject matter of the conversation really. he asks tensely: ] What were you all talking about?

keijen flashes a mocking grin in their direction, drawing back with lazy deliberateness. ]

I was just telling them how excited I am to see Jade's performance at the concert.

[Elena follows Myri's lead, falling back into the groupie cover. Hopefully, they can convince him that Finnick isn't involved. (Bluff 18)]

He was being creepy. I don't know why he'd think we'd care about his ex-girlfriend or whatever.

[ keijen's eyes don't leave rafael's face now for even a moment, as he refrains from confirming or denying the label, which only seems to make the singer more irate. ] You heard them. They're not interested.

Scurry along, now.

[Myri steps towards the boys, reaching out and putting a hand on Rafael's shoulder, trying to break his anger spiral because getting in a fist fight with the creepy drunk guy is the last thing they need on this mission.]

We should get back. Burt will wonder where you've gone.

[romanticidal]

[ myri can feel how tense he is beneath her hand, but he looks back at her after a beat, frowning, and nods slightly. ] Very well. We should go.

[Elena turns and starts heading for the door, assuming the others will be right behind her, reaching to loop her arm through Finnick's and drag him along, ignoring the way her heart is pounding.]

[Satisfied that a fist fight won't break out, Myri turns and walks with Elena, dragging the boys with her, if need be.]
