[Well, all the squires have gotten an extra long weekend to get settled around this place, but now it's time to get down to brass tacks.  Or something.  And Kat comes a knockin' on Myri's door with plans.]

Hope nobody's hung over in there.

Ok so maybe magic was a bad choice of... word. There's this science-based phenomena called electricity that can look a lot like magic, but isn't.

[witchwoman]

[Myri doesn't have much concept of science, but she can accept that something is just beyond her understanding. Much of this world falls into that category. She's just glad that the loud noise has stopped.]

So where are we going?

[shootfirst]

I want to show you what a city looks like around here. Stores, clubs, that kind of thing.

[witchwoman]

And how long must I- we... sit within this creature?

[She's obviously uncomfortable but not quite as afraid.]

What I mean to say is, is it far?

[shootfirst]

Well, usually it ... takes about an hour? But that's for people who drive like snails. [Which, as she whips out of the garage, it becomes apparent she doesn't mean to do at all]

[witchwoman]

[As they get out of the garage, Myri grips at the door for dear life. She doesn't say anything but her expression is back to the terrified side.]

[shootfirst]

[She seems to find Myri's terror to be kind of adorable and shoots her a big grin] Guessing you don't want me to put the windows down. [The big black gates out front open slowly, almost too slowly, as they rattle when Kat zooms through them]

[witchwoman]

[She tries to find comfort in Kat's smile but just ends up feeling a little sick to her stomach.] N-no I don't think so.

[shootfirst]

If you feel like you're going to barf, I might put it down anyway. Just sayin'.

[witchwoman]

[Myri takes a few deep breaths and tries to imagine that she's simply riding on a horse. A very... very fast horse.]

I think I'll be alright.

[shootfirst]

It gets way less scary, I promise. Once you realize we're not going to like run into anything. But I know what I'm doing. [And with her nat 20 driving check... she is not exaggerating. Holy crap. She winds down the road like a NASCAR driver o__o]

[witchwoman]

[Vroom vroom. Myri doesn't blink. At all. It's also really unfortunate that her Fort save total is only 7 because that grayish green tint is back in her face and her stomach is threatening to bring up breakfast for a comeback role.]

S-sir Kat? [Her eyes are pleading] Must we run the beast so hard? [One drop of a hill or curve in the road is likely to tip her over the edge.]

[shootfirst]

Huh? [She glances over, and then her eyes get wide] Do you seriously need a barf bag? There's probably one in the glove compartment or something... [Instead of slowing down, she reaches dangerously across to pop the thing open.

... A second nat 20 however means that she doesn't swerve at all. Wth best driver ever.]

[witchwoman]

[Kat is a dice witch.

Myri looks at the now open compartment and takes a bag out with slow and careful hands. Unfortunately, with a second crappy fortitude roll of 8, her weak stomach gets the better of her and... well.]

[Ohhhhh crap]

... Do you want me to pull over?

[witchwoman]

[Her stomach heaves one last time before it has nothing left to give. Myri is thankful that she was able to grab the bag before all that, else she would have been far more embarrassed.]

I think- I think I'll be alright now.

[shootfirst]

You can like... tie that up if you want. We'll find a dumpster.

[witchwoman]

[Myri ties the handles of the bag in a simple knot and focuses on making her breathing even. Now that she doesn't have anything in her stomach, she feels much better overall.]

I think this is a mode of travel that will take some getting used to.

[shootfirst]

I've always heard looking out the front window instead of the sides helps with carsickness. Don't ask me though - never really had the problem.

[witchwoman]

Anything's worth trying, I suppose. [She brings her attention to the large window in front of her, watching the world fly by and trying to calm her flipped stomach. Her breathing begins to calm, slowly but surely.]

[shootfirst]

It'll be over before you know it. Promise. [ANNNND DRIVING MONTAGE]

[witchwoman]

[Oh wow. Look at all that scenery! And eventually Myri might actually crack a smile and enjoy herself.]

[shootfirst]

[It's definitely dark by the time they reach the city, but London is as alive and bright as ever, though the lights might not be what Myri's used to.]

Now this is what we call a city.

[witchwoman]

[As they approach and the city's skyline comes into view, Myri gasps, but not in nausea or discomfort.]

Oh, Kat... [She breathes.] It's beautiful.

Didn't have anything like this back home, huh?
