When Snow wanders out of the fog, she'd immediately notice how the chill seems to cling to her - probably because she would be able to tell after a moment that she's within the confines of some kind of cave. There's a torch set in a holder against the wall on the far side, where she can make out a number of paintings, mostly animals depicted in a primitive but beautiful style.

[ as she touches the rock, she'd hear movement echoing through the cave. it's difficult to discern what direction it comes from (rolling a listen check of 14 or higher will succeed!) but there are also voices audible, although the echo devours whatever they're saying. ]

[kissedawake]

[Her breath catches when the faint echoes first hit her ears, growing in volume with each passing second. She is paralyzed for a time- afraid to speak and unable to move. Snow quickly realizes that she is not alone...for not only does she hear shuffling and possible footsteps, but indistinct voices also seem to reverberate throughout the cave, all sounds fusing together into one distorted mix. (Listen check 15!) She can't discern a specific language or even pick out a word, but the voices seem to be approaching from the far right of the void. Unaware of the nature of the beings behind these voices, she readies herself for whatever lies ahead, clutching at her bow and snatching an arrow from her quiver- just incase the need for self defense should arise.]

[ as they get closer, she can make out one of the voices - young and male - shouting back to whoever he was with. ]

I'll scout for the other entrance. I thought I saw something when we passed this way! [ it doesn't take long for him to round into view in the flickering light: a particularly slim young man with light brown hair and large green eyes, he also sports pointed elven ears, visible with a 12 or higher spot check. he wears a shortsword strapped at his hip, but beyond that his clothing is rather modern - a t-shirt, jeans, and black boots. snow sees him before he sees her. ]

[She can hear them more clearly now, one voice in particular ringing out above the rest. The approaching voice isn't as hostile as the ominous echos had led her to believe it would be, but still, she takes in uneven breaths.. in anticipation of being discovered by this stranger who, realistically, could have any sort of intentions. By now, she's moved slightly away from the light, hoping to hide herself long enough to have the chance to see what she is up against.

Then, she finally spots him in the dim light. It is much too dark to make out fine details, (spot check 9) but her eyes have adjusted to the available light well enough that she is able to get a visual of his basic features and attire, the flickering torch light causing his green eyes to glow bright as he inches closer and closer.

If it weren't for the sword at his hip, she may have let her guard down to some small degree, but a few more agonizing seconds pass before she can bear the silence no longer. She takes her stance, bow at the ready... not quite drawing back an arrow, but prepared to at a moment's notice.]

W- Who's there?

[It comes out as something of a whisper, but if he was really listening, he might have realized right away that he's not quite alone.]

[ he seems to somehow realize he's not alone before she even speaks, looking around with sudden suspicion... and his head swivels towards her voice when she finally does. his hand moves to the hilt of his sword, as he instantly straightens. ]

I might ask the same of you.
