Nothing is okay.

What was meant to be the Knights' triumphant collaborative effort to cut off Chad Becksworth's bid for total control of NOVA Records, allowing them to follow the trail elsewhere, has descended into chaos. Rafael's songs triggered some kind of reaction in Jade that allowed her to regain her lost memories, only to have their reunion cut tragically short by the actions of a hitman who took her hostage on stage, demanding her necklace. While Myri and Violet attempted to convince him that the necklace did not lie with her, Jade signaled to Rafael that she meant to utilize the distraction to break free - but things went out of control and Rafael's bullets struck Jade instead. The Knights felled the hitman, as the world watched, and Rafael begged a distraught and enraged Des to end his life. Meanwhile, a mysterious figure that only Buffy & Spike could see assisted Myrilandel in healing Jade enough to hang on for a little time more...

Time for people to say goodbye.

In the meantime, the police have arrived, arresting Rafael, Archer, and Des (or attempting to), and preparing Jade to be taken to the hospital. Everyone else is being ordered to head outside to be taken down to the station for questioning. It's a hectic scene, but people can finally snatch a few moments amid the chaos to try to make sense of what just happened...

Have you completely lost your mind? They already have one freaky super-powered Terminator agent, do you really think they need you?

[ and also she can't lose you now. the punch was mostly because you put her at risk of losing you, des. ]

[ nat 20 wisdom check says isabella stares at des and realizes more or less what buffy means right off the bat ] He is like Anderson? [ recognizing that des has been hit in the face and might take a second to answer, she rounds on rafael again to demand answers from him ] A regenerator?

Probably won't even keep their end of the bargain if they lose. Seems bloody stupid all around, mate.

[Des yelps in pain when Buffy punches him and spits blood on the nice floor. That'll be fun for the maids.] They what-? [Yeah, Des clearly did not think this through at all.] They're Shadow haters- I'm this way because of a goddess. I thought they'd use me as bait or torture me a little or something.

[He's not that broken up about it, though. He dabs at his lip with the back of his hand.] Trust me- I've been around awhile. If these assholes go back on their deal and try to gag-and-bag me, I'll give 'em a hell of a fight.

They're religious extremists, but I don't think they're just anti-Shadow, like Chad and co. I mean, Anderson slings magic around.

[Archer's missing a lot of the context on this, and it seems like these guys are just talking in circles to him - apart from that punch. Remind him not to piss her off, jesus. She's got more mannish hands than Lana. Anyway, Archer's just kind of hanging back, when he remembers that it's the 4th of July!]


Alright... I need some fresh air... I'm gonna go run some errands, hit up the bar, and case all the entrances and/or exits to this place; if we're going to camp out here for a while, I want to know the lay of the land.

[Also I'm going to buy out the entire city's supply of fireworks, in case we decide to blow up the P.D.]

Do try to stay out of trouble, Archer. We've had our share for today.

[ oh hey, there goes that damn room telephone again. ]

[You know who doesn't even want to get into this whole thing? Yep, you guessed. So, phone, phone is easy.]

Yeah, it's me again. [ yep ] Heard Descant did a great job of moving our coma patient out of prison, but figured you cats might be more interested in what I just heard about the other one.

Girl's in a bad way, but the hospital said she can talk. She's asking for you, Giovanni, and Descant. Not sure how much time you've got, so with everybody and their grandmas getting out there for fireworks tonight, you might wanna start moving your asses now.

Me? Are you sure? [Like she is going to focus on anything else?] No shut up, I don't want to know. [She hangs up on him this time, so there. She does it slowly, delicately putting the receiver back in the cradle before turning to everyone else. She looks shaken.]

Jade's awake. [She looks at Des, where is Des. There is Des.] She wants to see us. And Italia.

[Des is still considering the fact that his teeth are rearranged thanks to Buffy's punch and wondering if he made the hugest mistake in agreeing to sell his soul to Iscariot. He looks at Vi with a wide, unhappy eyes, and then heads to the door.] You're gonna have to sit in Rafael's lap, Buttercup. Don't worry, though. He's probably used to it.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. I think the rest of us want to know if she turns out okay. There's at least another car going.

I drive faster. [Yeah, he's... out the door.]

Raf can go with you then. [Because she's already following Des and snatching her flip flops off the floor by the door, though she shoots Kat an apologetic look as she goes.] Hey, don't go without me, butthead.

[romanticidal]

[ rafael's entire face changes, and he casts a sort of helpless look in isabella's direction, his feet already taking him in the direction of the door. he can't even talk. out he goes after des... ]

Des, what Isabella said, are you... do you just come back to life? Or... what goddess? [She hops as she scampers to keep up, tugging her flip flops on. (Dex 9, she probably bangs into the walls a couple times.)] Is now not the time? Because I think it should be the time, 'cause otherwise I'm gonna think about where were going and I'm already shaking so if you could distract me that would be swell, please?

I never got her name. [Des is practically taking the hall at a steady jog.] Never got much of anything out of her. She just wanted me to live and now I can't die.

[It's the truth, even if it's not the truth Jade got.]

You can't die... Jesus, what did you do to make her hate you so much? Which you don't have to answer, obviously. Sorry, just in case it was my mom.

[She looks back to make sure Raf is still keeping up.] Burt said she asked for us. Specifically.

[ are you kidding, raf has already overtaken probably both of you with his dex check of 23 to bust ass towards that car ]

It wasn't your mom. [A beat] Or it could've been. I don't know. And I don't think hate figured into it. I think she liked me.

[He nods.] I think that means she got her memories back. The other ones. Hell of a time to do it. [WOW RAFAEL. SLOW DOWN. YOU CAN'T EVEN GET INSIDE THE CAR RN.]

[ HERE BE THE OFFSHOOT THREAD FOR THOSE STILL IN THE ROOM. kat looks to myri first. ] I take it you wanna go, at least.

I... [Myri pauses and looks around the room as if she wants to say something but can't. She debated finding time to tell someone privately. Kat in the car? Finnick in their room? Buffy or Spike on the balcony? There are options but hasn't she spent so much time telling everyone how keeping secrets from the group will only hurt things? She's only glad that Violet isn't here to hear it. The girl doesn't need more to worry about. ]

[This is suddently so hard to explain]

My gift urges me to heal those nearby, compels me. That urge grows stronger with the need of the wounded. There have been times... That is to say, I have been known to... [She sighs. Where were the voices when she needed them?] if I am not careful, if I am not able to stop... I could follow Jade into the Void.

You mean if she dies-- [ she lets that trail off, staring at myri as if horrified by the notion that what seems like such a positive power could be putting her friend's life on the line every time ]

[she sucks her head rather than answer. She should have told them sooner. The voices had always warned her to stop before it could get to that point. But now..? Now she had these people to rely on and she needed to put it in their hands.]
