Nothing is okay.

What was meant to be the Knights' triumphant collaborative effort to cut off Chad Becksworth's bid for total control of NOVA Records, allowing them to follow the trail elsewhere, has descended into chaos. Rafael's songs triggered some kind of reaction in Jade that allowed her to regain her lost memories, only to have their reunion cut tragically short by the actions of a hitman who took her hostage on stage, demanding her necklace. While Myri and Violet attempted to convince him that the necklace did not lie with her, Jade signaled to Rafael that she meant to utilize the distraction to break free - but things went out of control and Rafael's bullets struck Jade instead. The Knights felled the hitman, as the world watched, and Rafael begged a distraught and enraged Des to end his life. Meanwhile, a mysterious figure that only Buffy & Spike could see assisted Myrilandel in healing Jade enough to hang on for a little time more...

Time for people to say goodbye.

In the meantime, the police have arrived, arresting Rafael, Archer, and Des (or attempting to), and preparing Jade to be taken to the hospital. Everyone else is being ordered to head outside to be taken down to the station for questioning. It's a hectic scene, but people can finally snatch a few moments amid the chaos to try to make sense of what just happened...

Yeah. Every now and again I get the weirdest bits of deja vu. [ Walking over to the table to sit seems like so much effort, and it would be easier just to sink down to the floor where she is. But she'll be somewhat like an adult and drop into the other chair. ]

[rationalizes]

I suppose that's only natural. Well, er, for someone ... from the other side, that is. It's certainly not natural. [ it's clear that her flustered commentary is just a product of how thrown off she is, instead of the usual. ] I do feel as if I didn't prepare you sufficiently for something of this... caliber. Not that we expected it, but we're supposed to be trained to expect the unexpected.

It's -- [ She wants to say it's okay. Because this isn't Gar's fault. It isn't anyone's fault but the person who attacked Jade. She isn't upset or angry or disappointed. She's sad because of what's happened, and she's tired because of everything that's happened. ] It isn't your fault. This was a--a learning experience.

[rationalizes]

Perhaps it can help you pinpoint what you feel you still wish to learn, so that we might focus on that.

God, I mean... there's a lot that I still want to learn. Probably most pressing right now would be, like, weapons? I did kinda have nothing on me at the concert and that feeling sucked.

[rationalizes]

Kat, Mark, or I would be happy to train you with your Excalibur, if you'd like to be field certified. Unless you had some other weapon in mind?

[watcherjunior]

No! That was totally what I was thinking. I don't remember much with guns from home, aside from they were pretty much useless. Which would account for me skipping them back then.

[rationalizes]

Then we'll be sure to make time for it. Elena expressed an interest in more weapon training as well, so we can review it all together.

[watcherjunior]

Good. Elena, she's... she's doing better, right?

[rationalizes]

Mark took her to a cleric. She should... she should be just fine.

[watcherjunior]

Cleric. [ She nods, even if she sounds a bit unsure what a cleric does, again. Whoever or whatever, as long as the other girl would be alright. ] It was an impressive distraction, if a bit backfire-y.

[rationalizes]

I suppose it's difficult to argue with anyone's logic in such a desperate situation...

Pretty sure there's a few cliches that go with that line of thinking. Desperate times, desperate measures. Necessity is the mother of invention. Next time I'm definitely looking closer before sitting next to a speaker.

Hopefully, we'll never find ourselves in a situation where that bit of history repeats itself.
