[After convincing Wynn she was needed in Chicago to assist Finnick and the rest of the group, Francesca tracks Christos down to fill him in. But tbh its mostly just because she likes his face and wants to say goodbye.

So wherever she finds him, she politely makes her presence known and greets him with a little smile.]

[ there's no reason she should find this so charming, but she does 8( and she tries to hide it, but she fails. instead she just ducks her head, biting her lip to keep from grinning like a fool. ]

Like you said, I have my work cut out for me. And like I said, I'm not sure how long this will take, so... [ her face falls a little and she goes back to chewing her bottom lip. ]

So ... I imagine that means I'll find a shortage of decent conversation for some time.

[ she looks back up, releasing her lip and giving him a little smile. alright, she's gonna say it ] I'll miss you, too.

[ he gets the most mildly sheepish of smirks as he looks over at her, saying nothing, but with an expression that plainly concedes being caught. ]

[ why is it the wonderful moments like this that seem to have to end so quickly, while the crappy ones haunt them for years and years?? and as if on cue, her phone audibly vibrates in her pocket we'll assume luthir is getting impatient, but its a long moment before she actually breaks eye contact, glancing down to her lap and mumbling: ] I guess... I have to go. [ before slowly standing up. ]

[ she's halfway up and turned when he says: ] You'll be careful.

[ she stops, keeping her back to him to hide her surprise at him expressing the very concern she had been battling this whole conversation. she takes a deep breath before saying, simply: ] I will.

[ she turns, giving him as much of a smile as she can manage. ] But you know how caught up I can get, so you might want to check up on me. [ and her tone becomes more casual as she goes on until she manages to tease: ] And will you be sending my birthday present, or delivering it in person?

I thought letting you go off to America on a fool's errand for an indeterminate amount of time was gift enough.

How gracious of you. [ but she smiles despite herself and makes to turn to leave again ] But I can give you the hotel address when you call.
