[ A few weeks after settling in, Lissa gets a pleasant rapping on her door at a decent hour of the morning. It's that time. ]

I don't think there's much chance of that happening. [ she finds a seat in the midst of many unusual faces, that only serve to emphasize the point. ] Have you made any friends yet among the Knights?

A few. [Possibly. It's too soon to tell.] There are a couple people here that I know from home. Though neither of them remember me.

[silvermaid]

That can't be easy. When I reunited with my twin sister, she remembered me from when we were children -- but I'd lost all those memories, and never got them back.

It's easier with Dimitri at least, we weren't very close. [But with Rose its just like a piece of herself is missing. And it's horrible. She smiles weakly, trying to make light of how much it pains her.] At least she can't hold grudges at me over things that happened when we were seven.

[silvermaid]

The memories that you can make together in this world shouldn't be discounted. You're both fighting the same battle on the same side. She can't avoid you forever.

So you haven't meet Rose, yet, have you? [She is pretty sure they can professionally avoid each other forever.]

I can't say I have. Do you know who she's squired to?

[ Her head shakes, sipping her drink. ] I'm not sure. [ Because she never asked because she is a horrible friend, yay! ]

Don't give up on her. She might be resistant at first, but she'll appreciate it if you don't allow that to scare you off.

[Glancing over, Lissa nods, giving Anastacia a small smile. She would probably need more prompting, but it was a start.] Okay.

[ as they eat, she returns the smile and reaches over to give her hand a small squeeze. ]

Are there other questions you have, for me?

[Lissa is discovering she is probably super lucky to have this woman as her mentor. Because man did she need that reassurance right then.]

I think so. Mainly, what am I supposed to do here?

[silvermaid]

Well, you're blessed to have access to the resources Wynn has gathered here. There's everything you could ever need to prepare you for every kind of mission... it's up to every Knight to suss out where they may need more help. We have weapons training and magic training... medical practitioners, scholars, experts on every field related to Shadow that exists...

So... anything, I mean, everything is open? I can just learn on my own?

[silvermaid]

That's the beauty of it. All the sects offer training in their specialized areas, and we have training rooms open for every purpose. If you don't know who to talk to about something specific, just ask me!

[Lissa's eyebrows lift in surprise. That sounds... great. She's used to structure, but her summer of doing whatever she wanted pretty much sold her on creating her own structure.] That actually sounds really nice.

[silvermaid]

Freedom means a lot to me... and my daughter. It's one of the things that made this outfit so attractive to us.

I haven't really had much, but first time for everything, I guess.

I'm terribly sorry to hear that. If you ever want to talk about it... well, I know more than a thing or two about being trapped.
