Too kind, friend. Good to see you out and about more now since you've been back. Sounded like your first mission was quite the adventure.

Got the rundown, then? [He nods.] Magic and ocean battles and all that. Feels like home.

Had to have someone keep and eye on you since I wasn't around. The lovely Francesca and I had a chat about the mission's event. I'm sorry to have missed it. It seemed- as you said, a bit like home.

But you seem to be adjusting to the life back here again.

[unhand]

Suppose I am, aye. Need to fix my ship soon. [Which has NOT been going well. :| ] Rather not be stuck here. [It's true, he can go elsewhere, but without his ship, it's hardly the same.]

You know... if you need a hand, you only have to ask.

Somehow, I'd wager that's a bit beyond your ability to grant me.

Afraid bards aren't known for that kind of magic. Alas, I suppose I can only offer the two I have. [A beat] I can help, friend. Worked on my own ship enough. I would hope I'd be able to help you piece yours back together.

Suppose I ought to find a better cleric, then. [He shrugs, crossing his arms.] I've been in at least two worlds filled with enough magic to regrow a bit more than just a simple hand, and yet I've never had it fixed. I wonder why.

[Idle musings. He shakes it off and turns towards Thoster.]

I'd appreciate any help you can offer. The going's been far too slow for my liking.

I don't know. It suits you. [He shrugs] But if you change your mind, I'm sure Wynn wouldn't bat an eye to spending a bit of money to get all hands on deck.

[He really needs to stop with these jokes.]

Well, no time like the present, is there? Show me where she's docked and we'll take a look at the damage. Might be too late to do much work tonight, but I can at least get a look at her.

Perhaps. [Something to think about, anyway. He's not sure why he's so reluctant. Sure, the hook gives him a certain level of menacing, but a hand would be a lot more useful.

He'll worry about it later. For the meantime, he uses his hook to point the way.] It's right this way.

[And he starts to walk towards it.]

[Thoster follows, interested to see the state of his squire's ship. What better way to bond with the man he's meant to mentor than over something they both love above all else? A man and his ship is a very special bond after all...]

So tell me about her- this ship of yours.

[Hook gets a little smile, an almost besotted one.]

She's a beauty, my Jolly Roger. Made of enchanted wood, you know. Faster than any ship made of the normal sort of timber.

You mentioned that enchanted part before. Still not quite sure what you mean by that. Just a speed thing, then?

[HEADCANON TIME.]

That's the most noticeable. But there are other perks. She's sturdier than most, and less prone to rot. Any other ship as old as she would be scrap by now.

All the more reason to set her right. [That might be a twinge of jealousy, but only to think about how his own ship will one day rot away.]

[Hey, there are probably spells for that.....]

Aye, it's only a matter of time now til I figure her out. [But he'll accept the help. Seeing as CLEARLY he needs it. Nice part of having a magic ship? Repairs have for the most part been minimal.]

[Whereas Thoster put blood sweat and tears into his (even if his skill points don't reflect that. shhhh. i'll fix it next level.)]

I'm sure Wynn knows a man or two who might be able to speed things along. [Magically? Or just some elbow grease? Maybe both.] Unless you're wanting to do it yourself for some sense of pride?

I'll be proud once she's on the water again. Doesn't much matter to me who makes it happen. [He's a sailor, not a shipwright. He knows the basics, but he's certainly happy to let someone else take over to keep her seaworthy.]

Good man. Never let a little bit of pride stand between you and the open water. I'll have a chat with Wynn, if you'd like. Seems the least I could do.

I'd still like to see her though. Help me understand the state of her.
