[ The castle can be a happening place, even on more mundane days. This log is for random interactions over the course of this month.  Because not everyone is into parties, ok.

[ emma's stomach flutters, and she can't help but glance up into his eyes (will save 12). her throat goes dry and she swallows to try and remedy it, but finds the solution insufficient. ]

What makes you think it'd be with you? What the hell have you done to earn that? When you couldn't get your chance with me, you settled for a teenage girl who I'm willing to bet you haven't talked to since.

Didn't say it had to be with me. [Though that's his first choice.] But there are worse men you could choose.

Yeah. [ believe her, she knows. she's dated plenty. ] Well, maybe I haven't met any that don't have me choosing between "worse" and "less worse."

[He shrugs. Less worse is about as good as he can do, person wise, and honestly, it's something of an exaggeration. He's Captain Hook. Not exactly known for being a good person. He's spent several lifetimes looking to kill a man he doesn't remember for a woman he doesn't remember. He still sort of wants to kill that man and he's not sure if that makes him better or worse than if he didn't. For all that he claims he's not the worst, he's not really able to think of many examples. He just knows that he's better than himself when he's with her, or he wants to be at least.]

Suppose it's hard to impress the girl who's father is Prince Charming.

[He drops his hand... and his eyes with a smirk that's not exactly calculated to woo her heart so much as other parts of her. If there's one thing he can depend on, it's his sex appeal.]

I'm a good deal better than less worse at some things...

[ emma steps in, glancing up at him through dark eyes and resting a hand against his chest. ]

Then, maybe you could use those talents of yours - [ she shoves him aside, pressing him up against the wall (atk 22, dmg 2). ] - To get out of my way.

[ she gives him a snide smile that actually borders on the apologetic, and then she moves to step past him. ]

He doesn't stop her, but he does call after her as she walks away.]

Emma. I mean it. Do yourself a favor and give your heart a chance.

[ she turns behind her to fix him with a baffled look that he's still trying, but she heads out anyway. as she turns away from him to leave the range, her expression shifts to one of mingled apprehension, conflict evident in her eyes. because maybe, just maybe, he's right. she's been too alone for too long to know how to do anything else, though. and she needs to find her mother first. ]
