How touching. [Beneath the snark, Emma might be able to detect the tell tale signs of jealousy in her tone. Faye can't remember her mother, or anyone for that matter. But she has the feeling that she's always been on her own. The feeling like you can only depend on yourself doesn't just show up overnight.]

More or less. [She and Gold had talked about how magic worked, but she just doesn't feel like Emma could appreciate that. Magic just feels right for her, and the way that Emma was trying to finish it like a chore made her less inclined to go further.]
