I tried to talk to her before, sir. I wanted to...clear things up, help her see what was going on. But... [He sighs]

Things got out of hand, sir. I let them get out of hand.

Far enough. [He says grimly, obviously not happy with himself and also not interested on telling Wynn about how he banged the cursed sorceress.]

But it won't happen again. And I'll talk to her... Try to. At least to let her know that it was a one time thing.

[ wynn's hand slams down upon the surface of the round table, and a burst of blue-white light shimmers across it, extending outwards off the edges with a flash to the very perimeter of the room and then vanishing, although it leaves a lingering tingling sensation in the air. a wisdom check of 10+ recognizes that the room is filled with magic: particularly a spell compelling anyone within the room to speak the truth (will save DC 19 to resist). ]

Were you truly deceived by this woman into believing that she made this choice of her own accord?

[Charming jumps back when Wynn's hand slams down on the table, too surprised and spooked by his boss' behavior to register anything that's happening (wis 4). Even if he wanted to lie (which he really doesn't) he wouldn't be able to (will save 7). It's laughable how honorable he feels he needs to be, considering the circumstances.]

She had an answer for everything. I tried to tell her, but I... believed what I wanted to believe.

[And that's the problem. When he thinks back on that night, he has a hard time deciding if Amara was so convincing, so believable... or if he simply wanted to believe it because it was a way to make a distant aching in his heart stop, if only for a moment. He didn't love her, but he couldn't say that he minded that sense of feeling needed, wanted, sought. But he had known the whole time that it wasn't right, which was why he hadn't been able to face her until he was cornered today.

Shame causes him to drop his gaze to the ground. He'll just wait for the punishment to come now, thx.]

[ he stares for a long moment, and then finally removes his hand, and the effect is dispelled. the air clears, and whether aware of why or not, charming would find he can breathe a little easier. ]

You'll do well to keep that in mind in the days to come, if you still wish to become a member of this Knighthood.

[He swallows hard and nods wordlessly. Even if the spell has dissapated, he still looks just as tense and upset with himself as he was moments before. Finally, he looks up to meet Wynn's gaze and just looks a bit defeated.]

Do you think I should talk to her? Try to explain?

[wynn]

How do you foresee that conversation proceeding, considering the nature of her affliction?

[He knows how he WANTS it to go. He wants it to go so well that she snaps out of it and he won't have to worry about her using sorceress seduction on him. But that's... just not very likely, is it?]

Maybe someone else should keep her safe. Someone she's not... [in love with] Someone who isn't connected to it all.

I'm glad to see you reasoning more clearly. I agree with your assessment. For both of your sakes, it will be best for you to keep your distance from the woman... which will not be easy.

[uncease]

If you need me out of the castle until it all blows over, I'll understand.

[Not that he really wants to run from his problems, but he feels like he needs to do something to make this easier for everyone involved.]

I've a place I can send you, should you think isolation the only way to keep her truly at bay. You would, however, be cut off from contact with any of those here.

[Immediately, his mind flashes to Emma- a daughter he still doesn't know, an impossible circumstance that still doesn't make sense to him. But no matter how confusing it is, he doesn't feel like he could leave her.]

No... For now, I'll just try to stay away. If it comes to that... If it's needed, I'll let you know.

Of course. [He looks around nervously, uncertain if he's allowed to go.]
