Well, last I recall, we were talking about the interest in Chad and his cult. We have reason to believe that they possess a talisman that could grant eternal life to its wielder. Which is not really something we'd like in their hands, you could understand.

It would at least be in far more experienced hands. We're still not entirely sure what this artifact is capable of, only that there must be some truth to its rumored power to have warranted all this conspiracy and blood-shed.

Any relic that travels from the Shadow realm into this one falls under our organizations' jurisdiction. We both wish to protect its function, and to protect this world from the potential repercussions of its use.

This certainly isn't the first artifact with such a stigma that we've encountered, and if that is indeed what it does, well, the powers that possess the ability to grant immortality will always find a way to extract their cost. It's never worth the price.

You have to admit, what you stand to lose by not working against your brother is worth quite more than what you would gain by doing nothing. So far our efforts certainly haven't hurt your interests... or your wallet.
