The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

I remember. [at least her wis check for that was legit ... ] I'm Astrid. [and u r a hottie. she shakes his hand and gives him a ~charming~ grin.] So, this knight thing is pretty legit, right?

[After hearing her voice, Brantley smiles back at her.] Well, I certainly hope so. I like this place, it's pretty fancy. And the people, they are quite easy on the eyes. Well, at least one of them is.
[And within the last sentence, Brantley adds in a flirtatious smiles.]

I am the prettiest one here, aren't I? [humility is for losers. she bows her head down ever so slightly, smile still in place.] It's a shame that no one wants to dance with me ...

[Quite a bold one, isn't she? Not that Brantley minds.] Well, there's one here. Shall we? [Brantley bows a bit and offers his hand.]

I'd love to. [she takes his hand and gets to dancin'. and with a dex roll of 18, she's doing a pretty stellar job at it. it's almost like she's intimately familiar with these kinds of parties or something.]

[fixyourproblem]

[dex 11, Brantley dances with the grace of a chicken, a little bit weird move here and a little bit more there. At least it still looks like a dance, and thankfully he doesn't step on anyone's foot or dresses.]

Miss Astrid, mind if I ask why do you join the Knights?

[pathology]

[eh, it's ok. she'll let him get away with awkward dancing because he's hot.]

Yeah, I totally mind. [she laughs it off it a way that lets him know she's just joshin' him.] Just kidding. It seemed like a good idea at the time. What about you?

[fixyourproblem]

This is a bit embarrassing. [He chuckles.]

I'm half British and my childhood was filled with stories about knights and heroes. And you know what they say about boys will always be boys. I guess that's true, at least some part of it. [In other words: Brantley wants to swing swords and wear shining armors.]

[pathology]

Aw, cute! [she honestly thinks it's cute; it shows in her smile.] You must love the whole Arthurian motif this place has going.

[fixyourproblem]

This place even has a round table and a mysterious sword, who knows maybe our leader is none other than the Legendary King of Britain. [His smile widens.]

[pathology]

You think? I always imagined Arthur as more ... [she pauses to ponder on this] I don't know, something. Hot? Yeah, hotter.

[fixyourproblem]

[Brantley laughs] You're right, the real one must be much more charming than our scary leader.

[pathology]

You think he's scary?

[fixyourproblem]

Yeah, there's something about him that would make children run away and hide, don't you think?

[pathology]

Yeah, children. He's only really scary if you've got a thing about authority.

[fixyourproblem]

I guess so. [Brantley chuckles at the remark.]

Let's change the topic. I'm more interested in you. [He looks her in the eye and smiles softly.] Tell me about yourself.

[pathology]

That's so vague. My favorite color is red, I lived in Germany until I was twelve, I have a younger brother ... oh! And my best friend in the entire world is over there. [she points over yonder at attica.] We decided to get knighted together.

[fixyourproblem]

[Brantley can't help but glare a little when he takes a peek at Attica.] Must be nice. I have never had a friend like that before. [He returns his gaze to Astrid and smiles again.]

[pathology]

She's awesome. Like, I don't know, Catwoman or something.

[fixyourproblem]

You two must be very close. [He takes another peek at Attica.] You should introduce me to her sometime.

[pathology]

Totally! She's kind of standoff-ish though, so be prepared for that. There's lots of layers. Like an onion.

Just bring it on! And I'll chop those onion's layer like a five star chef.
