The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[Jaime didn't even try to look that good (disguise check..... 6). He comes in unshaved and smelling a lot like horse... which, actually, is where he was during all the squiring that went on. It seemed like it would be as boring as all the other ones where you weren't the one actually getting squired were, so he thought he'd tend to the horses a bit instead.

But hey, party. Couldn't miss that. Or actually he probably could have, judging by the disinterested way he's looking around. Or maybe he really is interested and he's just acting like he isn't. It's hard to tell with Jaime.]

[Bambi has already had too much socializing for one night so she and her tacky dress are attempting to subtlety excuse herself, only to run into... the horsemonger.]

So they invite the stableboys too? That's almost sweet.

[She's only being moderately sarcastic. HE COULD HONESTLY BE THE STABLEBOY.]

[HE HAS SPENT TIME IN THE STABLES BECAUSE HORSES MAKE MORE SENSE THAN OTHER THINGS IN THIS WORLD. But he is a LANNISTER ok why does no one here appreciate that.]

Do the knights of this realm not usually care for their own mount? Explains a lot.

So do you actually remember where you're from or do you just remember the horses? May sound like a stupid question, but I met a guy once who didn't remember anything except what he had for breakfast that morning.

Bits and pieces, perhaps. I know my own name, and that we were powerful and rich. I think I can muster up a few lunches and dinners as well.

I assume they simply weren't as interesting. No one has great feasts for breakfast.

They should. I happen to be a big fan of bacon.

[I just looked up the history of bacon to figure out if Jaime would know what it is and it turns out it used to be a generic word for pig's meat. So Jaime looks kind of confused about that.]

They don't have bacon at these feasts? Ever?

I dunno. Maybe on the cheeseburgers or wrapped around those little filet mignon things. Not a lot of plain bacon dishes.

[ sydney's disguise checks are always off the charts ok, she has a million ranks in it. she pauses while meandering the crowd with a glass and glances over to register Jaime's expression, meeting his eyes ]
