The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

There aren't many who would say such a thing to my face in my own realm. But the lure of Lannister gold and the fear of Lannister steal means a great deal less here, I suppose.

I'll thank you that gold and fear have never paid for my silence, in this realm or any other. Shall I say it again? You're no lion, only a stray. [ she squares her shoulders, straightening her back and staring him down with a stubborn gaze. she's not going to bend under his intimidation tactics, and she's not going to let his attempts to feminize her make her any less powerful either. time was she didn't believe you could be a lady and a knight at the same time, but times change and she very much enjoys the power she gets from both, thank you. ]

[He leans forward to meet her, still smirking, but there's an angry glint in his eye. Her words piss him off more than he wants to let on.]

And you're only a wench dressing up in armor. [A beat.] Or claiming to.

Oh, I'm wearing armor, am I? Do all the knights of your land fight by slinging mud at each other while in women's wear, then? It'd certainly explain why you think you've any right to wear a shield.

I presume you've put on real armor, unless you really are only playing at this.

Whether I have or not isn't quite business of yours, is it? Plenty of knights 'round here who wear no armor at all; I wonder if you'd doubt their mettle. Oh, I think I'd like to see Sir Dumage hear it.

If he intends to fight a battle without armor, he'll be a bit too dead for me to rub it in.

Of course I have. [He just doesn't think much of them.] Suppose those would be why they allow women and men who can hardly lift a sword to become knights.
