The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[ honestly, after jaime, anything is going to sound like songbirds by comparison. the bar for compliments was set super low, low enough that even if it had sounded like a get-in-her-pants thing, it still wouldn't have elicited a punch. ]

I'm miserable at making it to these. Always full of the knights you don't want to see. [ she crinkles her nose, giving a sort of private grin to go with her remark. ] Have you been with us a while?

[uncease]

[He smiles back, even if he doesn't really have any knights that he would avoid. Sorceresses on the other hand...]

Six months or so. [It all got a little foggy for him with the extended Bermuda mission.] What about you?

[trebond]

A great deal longer. [ she gives a heart laugh, but claps a hand on his shoulder. she's used to being around knights and soldiers, despite the dress and the heels and the make-up she still defaults to treating them all like that rather than anything daintier. ] A squire, then, I take it.

[uncease]

I guess I'm still green around the edges, huh? [He laughs, though- good natured about the whole thing.] Yeah, they have me squired to Fred. Know him?

In passing only. But, he's a good knight - you're in safe hands. And if there's anything you find you need that he doesn't have the free time to assist you in, feel free to call on me.

[uncease]

That's so nice of you. [Seriously, being a Knight is the best. Charming has not met anyone he didn't like.] Are you part of the Hide too?

[trebond]

[ there's a deflation in her smile but she just shakes her head, keeping it up. ]

No. Almost, but the Light wouldn't quite let me go. Spend plenty of time with them, though.

[uncease]

That's a kind of strange combination, don't you think?

Is it hard to balance combat with healing?

Combat's easy, it's the healing bit that gives me trouble. Magic. [ she crinkles her nose in disapproval. ]

I can imagine. I don't have any experience with it myself. And I take it you haven't always been... [He tails off and gestures because he doesn't quite know how to say it. Have you always had magic? Have you always been like this? This seems rude to him.]
