The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[It is extremely cruel fate that Andrew's boss is 1.) an extremely attractive woman and 2.) possibly a sociopath (or at least he thinks so. she is scary as hell). Put together, she's basically everything that makes him uncomfortable.

At the sound of her voice, Andrew freezes and his grip tightens slightly on his drink. For half a second, he thinks about just pretending like he didn't hear her. But he knows better and doesn't want to be rude- he just... wants to not look like an idiot.]

Sir Trinall- hi. Lovely... er, party we're having.

We've had better. [ ... once, at least. when arthur was knighted. every other time has been basically the same for centuries, lbr. ]

With his going completely blank, he just sort of stares at her, mouth hanging half open.]

[He blurts out suddenly. Immediately looking sheepish, he cough and clears his throat, swallowing to come at that with a bit less intensity.]

Working on new discrete ways for our Knights to set up surveillance. More powerful cameras. Better quality picture... Not so grainy?

I mean it's just... user error mostly. People being given something and not really understanding how to use it. Trying to make the process idiot-proof, as it were.

I imagine you have many subjects to test that on.

[Instead of answering with words, he just... looks out at the party guests, sweeping his gaze across the room before returning to her and taking a very slow drink.]
