The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[Andrew sort of just stares for a minute. Why the hell would Wynn pair him up with a guy who flirts? He's not even bothered by the implication that he's flirting with men, because that's not a big deal. But Andrew is sort of the opposite of that and how is he supposed to teach this guy anything?]

That's... Yeah, that's great. I'm sure you'll fit right in with the diplomatic types.

[With that staring, even the most dense person would know that Andrew is uncomfortable with the joke. And Brantley is not even that dense.(sense motive 21)] Hey, I'm kidding, okay? I don't flirt when I work. [At least most of the time.]

I can help you with that. It always help knowing a thing or two. Only if you're interested, of course. [He smiles at him.]

I think I'm supposed to be showing you the ropes, not the other... Not that I'm not grateful for the offer. I mean, it's not like I couldn't use the help. I've got terrible luck with women. Actually no luck at all, but that's the terrible part.

Don't worry about that, you teach me how to be a knight and I teach you how to flirt with women. Or men if you're also leaning that way. [And again, he winks.]

If that's what you want. [Brantley bobs his head.] You have someone in mind?

No, not really. Sort of gave up on the idea. [Wow, this is an uncomfortable conversation to have with a stranger.] But... anyway. The job, uh, so you're good at talking to people then, I take it?

Yeah, in a way. [Rather than talking, discreetly paying someone is more correct.]

My job is to provide things. Information, materials, contrabands, personnels. Anything you want, just name it and I'll provide it. [For a price of course.]

Logistic works if you put it that way.

And you did this before joining the Knights? Just on your own?

[Well, technically, he hasn't stopped doing this but he hasn't taken any job since he was contacted by the Knights.]

Yeah, it isn't like you need lots of manpower to do this job. You only need good contacts and a few contingency plans if something bad happens. I do get help a lot from my brother though.

Your brother? He joining up too?

[Oops, sorry, you chose the wrong topic. Brantley won't stop talking if it's about his brother.]

Nah, I don't think so. He is pretty much a lone wolf. But if I keep asking him to join, I think he'll give in eventually. He can be scary if you don't know him, but inside he has a soft heart. Well, maybe not so soft, but he can be nice sometimes. I think he started acting cold, when our parents died. Maybe because he thought that he had to take care of me and he needed to toughen up. And he did take care of me. Still does, in fact. But, sometimes he gets into trouble, and I'm the one who helps him. Once...

[And yeah, he will keep rambling for the next (rolled 7) minutes, unless someone stops him.]

[Andrew lets him go. As he talks, Andrew just nods along and looks almost... sad? Or jealous? He and his own brother aren't close at all. He thinks this sort of thing must be nice.]

He sounds like a hell of a guy. [He eventually breaks into the babbling.] I'm sure he'd be welcome if he ever changes his mind.

[Brantley might have noticed Andrew's change of mood. But since he is not really sure about it and his mind is directed toward his brother, he doesn't do anything about it.(wis 9)]

Yeah, maybe he will. How about you? Any brothers or sisters to annoy?

Just one brother. Adam. He's part of the Dragon's Hide, but he's been gone for awhile, off on missions elsewhere and all that.

Oh, that must be nice. Having a family member in the Knights as well. You'll always have someone to share stories with, right?

It's sort of a family thing for us. Our parents met here.

[Awh, he's such an awkward little legacy.]

Oh- sorry. I'm in the Dragon's Hoard. That's the research division? I work mostly with the computers and equipment.

[Suddenly, he shifts his eyes to a passerby.]

Well, Master Gatewood, as much as I like your company, I'm sure you don't want to spend the rest of the evening with this old man, [Though 33 can't be considered that old.] and I also got some works to do. [flirting, that is.]
