Andrew fidgets while he waits for the squires to show. He's waiting inside the lab, behind its "Biohazard" labelled doors. Once people begin to show up, he offers a stammering greeting and does his best to seem like he knows what he's doing. The sad part is, he DOES know what he's doing... He's just bad with people. People are free to look around at the grand library while he waits for the proper head count. Once he thinks everyone has arrived, he takes them up the steps. A great deal of models are suspended from the ceiling that look like space age designs for jet planes, cars, boats, and any number of other things. There are other objects that are much more inexplicable: a giant silver ball, suspended by several rods, for example.

There's another set of doors at the end of the balcony, and he swipes his access card through a reader beside them. They depress with a space age hiss. revealing a clean white laboratory, with rows and rows of tables and lab equipment set up. Numerous knights buzz around in white lab coats, working under microscopes and on computers, conferring over a number of projects.

"Just a bit further." He says with an awkward smile as he waves to a few of the lab techs that he knows. There's a door on the left side of the room with a panel that he presses his hand to, causing the light to change from red to green, unlocking the door for the group.

Beyond is a very long room, with rows of labelled cases and cabinets with transparent glass revealing what's inside. Andrew moves to shift from one foot to the other on the other side of the stainless steel table.

I didn't mean to! If I did it on purpose do you think I'd be freaking out about my texts? [She makes the most suspicious expression.] You're not going to read them are you? You're not going to clone the new one and just stalk my messages, right?

What? No! [God he is appalled at the accusation.]

[He gives her another wary look before completing his transplant and fitting the back plate back on the phone. He holds down the power button to boot it up and holds it out for her.]

There. Just... tell me if anything's missing.

[bittersweeter]

[She flicks through the screens in that terrifyingly fast manner teenagers have, eyes flitting across the screen as she speed reads her texts -- many of which are benign, fret not, Andrew, she really isn't going to recreate the Bling Ring.]

You lost my high score on fruit ninja.

[Because she can't just say thank you.]

[Whatever, Andrew is probably faster with his phone. Bitches don't even know.]

It probably wasn't that good anyway.

It was 1325. [Fuck you, it was amazing. Don't worry, she screencapped it and flicks to the picture for proof.]

[Here's the weird part where Andrew is sort of more comfortable because this is his world.]

That's nice. Did they start finger painting in kindergarten this week too? [He opens up his own game and heads to the high score list where he has 1500 or so (idk i dont even play fruit ninja. it's just higher so he can brag).]

You remember I shoot people pretty much for fun, right? And we're in a room full of guns... [She reaches out to snatch at his phone. (Dex 14)]

[Reflex save of... 12. Yeah she has the phone.]

Hey! Be... careful.

[How is this girl who is over a foot shorter than him doing this right now? Life isn't fair.]

Oh, oops, I accidentally reset all your high scores... [She didn't actually, but she sure sounds like it! (Bluff 34)]

You did what?!

[He lunges to take back his phone because he totally believes her (sense motive 16). In his fit of undignified nerd rage, he loses the little coordination he has while trying to snatch the phone back (dex 12).]

[Lila laughs like the horrible person that she is and holds the phone away (dex 18) which is doubly hilarious because she is so short.]

Calm down, geek boy. I didn't touch your precious high scores.

[Andrew scowls.]

Good. Now hand it over.

[bittersweeter]

Not so fast. [She tucks the phone in her bra. Yeah, try to get it back now.] I have a few questions for you, Andrew Gatewood.

[He makes an undignified whining noise when her phone disappears down her shirt. Not fair!]

Okay so ask them! [He is getting separation anxiety here. This is torture.]

The guns, can we have more than one?

Two. They'll allow two, but that's it. [He spits the answer out, hoping that it's all she wants and that he can have his phone back.]

What if I had three arms? [She raises her eyebrows like WHAT THEN, SIR? but even as she asks, she retrieves the phone and uses the hem of her skirt to wipe it off delicately so he won't be all OMG GIRL GERMS. She holds it out with a smile.] You know I almost kept it, you need to work on your poker face.

[HE ISN'T AFRAID OF GIRL GERMS. GET OUT.

Grabbing for the phone, he holds onto it a little too tight. That's pretty much his whole life in portable form. He gives her a half hearted glare.]

That's why I don't play poker. [Super grumpy Andrew, unlocked.]

Pity, we could make a killing. [Leaning forward, she puts her elbows on the little workstation/table. If it were anyone else she would be cleverly displaying her cleavage, but she pretty much thinks Andrew is like... robot sexual the way he is clutching his phone like it's Linus' blanket.]

You know, if I didn't know Zero, and I am using know in the broadest sense since he calls himself Zero so he obviously has some sharing is caring issues. But if I didn't know him I would be very surprised that someone like me hadn't managed to kill someone like you. [Is she serious? Probably. It's not like she has the best set of morals. Andrew should make an app for that: if your idea is okay'd by Lila's lack of scruples then it's probably a bad idea. Anyway, she is serious, but her tone implies that it should be a compliment. Like he is smart enough to have not gotten killed yet. A thousand points for him. And in case he isn't sure, she adds:] Well done.

...Thanks? [He is not sure if he should be insulted or not. He knows he's not exactly knightly, but pointing it out... That's just rude.]

How'd you meet him- Zero? He doesn't come out much, is all.

[bittersweeter]

[Her hand lifts to circle the room.] Same way I met you. And Zero's grown to love [tolerate in small doses] me.

[SO YOU WLL GROW TO LOVE HER ANDREW X-( besides, you need a little teenager in you life to help good influence at and Lila needs more good influences.]

You barged in on him and demanded he help you?

No, I meant orientation, although that's actually pretty much how it happened. And then I annoyed him into telling me all his dirty secrets. [Look what you have to look forward to, Andrew, if this pattern holds. Or maybe she'll just kiss you on her birthday. You never know with Lila and nerds.]
