The trial of Rafael Giovanni looms on the horizon, as summer gives way to fall, the chill in the air creating a definite atmosphere of foreboding as the date grows closer. It's not merely Rafael's freedom on the line after all - but also Des', thanks to the deal he struck with Iscariot. While Francesca and Val'drin work to uncover the secret of the mysterious hourglass artifact, lawyer Jaka Teken'Duis uses his ... unique legal powers to work towards a "Temporary Insanity" case for Rafael. The Knights, unhappy about the potential ramifications of such a plea, continue to seek any evidence they can to show Rafael was actually innocent, and place conspiracy charges back on Chad Becksworth and his ilk for what transpired. Not everything they learn, however, is what they were hoping to find...

Others wage more personal battles, as the coming autumn signals the encroaching winter, and Luthir and Violet's time draws shorter to find a way to stop her nightmares, lest they kill her. Elena plays a dangerous game, working to uncover more of her nature by training her doppelganger powers - with the enemy.

This log covers any work and non-work related shenanigans the Knights have while staying in Chicago, immediately following the three mission logs and continuing for four months. This will be the Knight's last time in Chicago before the trial: after which they plan to return to the castle to fully Knight Violet and Dawn and decide where to head next.

Make your own threads, don't fuss about tag order, feel free to threadjack multiple people into one thread for hang-outs, ask me if you want a certain scene with an NPC, etc. forever whatever. There will be a few group scenes, which I'll alert everyone to on Plurk. They may not all be posted immediately, so keep an eye on this post for new threads as time goes by. It took you like two months to figure out how to break glass?
[Archer laughs, pulls his gun out, and shoots AT it... but... Well I rolled a 2, and I'm pretty sure 8 misses, lol]

[ as archer shoots the couch, val'drin scoops the hourglass up and out of his way ] It's a magical artifact. You can't shoot it away, which I realize may be a foreign concept to... some of you.

[Val'drin underestimates just how dumb Archer can be.]
[He just starts laughing uncontrollably.]

Right... Whatever you say, Gandalf. The hourglass is magic.

...Do you need a drink? Because I sure as hell do. [He walks over to the bar, still laughing, to mix up some refreshments.]

[Archer returns after a few moments, with a pair of green concoctions.]

How fitting, seeing as how I just spent a great deal of time in Moscow. [ he'll take it gratefully ]

Moscow, eh? My last visit there wasn't so pleasant... I broke a guy's legs...

I do my best to avoid them, personally. I would have thought that by your estimation breaking a man's legs might rate as a pleasant experience.

Well... [He lets out a small laugh.] It was pretty funny at the time. Now the asshole has cyborg legs, and is out to kill me.

[He shrugs.] Hindsight's a bitch, right?

He has no idea you're here, does he?

Last time I saw him, he was on a space station...

His name's Barry. He's the cyborg that looks like a douchier Justin Timberlake. With metal legs.

Frankly? That sounds horrible. A bit beyond the realm of credulity as well, perhaps, but I've seen a number of strange things in my time.

Amen to that. [He raises his glass.]

So... what brought you to Moscow? Not really an ideal vacation spot. Unless you're into beautiful women, who are also psychopathic killers. [Which, actually, is a shockingly accurate portrayal of the ideal Drow woman.]

I try not to rule them out. And it was for a mission, naturally.

[isisagent]

Naturally. [Archer stares at Val'drin, clearly bored at the lack of details and/or mention of explosions. He drains his drink, and sets it on the table.]

Well... I think I'm going to go and collect some HUMINT from some of the local watering holes.

[Archer starts out the door.]

I'd invite you along, but.. well... [Archer looks at him for a moment, then just walks out and closes the door without finishing the thought.]
