Andrew is nervous. He nearly talked himself out of going through with this half a dozen times, today alone. He arrives in the front lobby area of the castle about 15 minutes early and that's when the pacing starts. There's a slight squeak from his shoes each time he turns to walk back the way he came, as if he's trying to wear a hole in the fancy floors. One hand toys anxiously with the keys to one of the cars in the garage that he plans to take them out in. The other keeps a tight grip on his phone, checking the time every thirty seconds.

Bo isn't phased, even though holy shit that was a nice shot. She simply puts the puck back into play, and sinks one for herself (dex 17).

"I'm game if you are." She's only mostly joking back. Hey, wagers can be fun.

Balls. She is distracting.

"Really? Uh... okay. What should we bet?" Fetching the puck back out, Andrew sets it back on the board and shoots, bouncing off the left wall and juuuuuust barely making it in. (dex 15)

Yes, yes she is.

She's clearly not paying much attention now, happier to focus on the conversation and perhaps distracting him more as well (dex 7).

"Hm, whoever wins gets to be the one to take home any leftover pizza?" Pretty harmless, but that pizza's good, so totally a legit prize.

Oh my god how is he so good at this game. The dice love Andrew when he plays arcade games. He blocks her shot flings it back down to her side of the court, sliding neatly into the goal. Yeah. He put that puck in her slot. I mean what? (dex 17)

"If you ask nice, I might share a slice when I take it home then."

Oh, baby, oh. Boy sure knows how to work that puck. She's no pushover, though, as she gets her next shot in, too. (dex 16).

"Careful. Don't get too cocky."

He retrieves the puck and grins at her, not at all bothered by the scoring goal.

"Who me?" Okay so maybe he is a little, but this is the actual best he has played in... ever. Placing the puck back on the table, he isn't even really looking this time but he has GREAT SKILL LUCK and sinks it again (dex 21). As he watches it go in, he straightens and laughs a little.

"Okay, this is just getting weird. You're not letting me win, are you?"

And she fires back with a fucking nat 20, they are just the worst at defense or something I don't even know.

"Do I look like I'm letting you win?"

It's like a weird hockey shootout where they sent the goalies home.

"Alright, so you're a pro. Next point wins, yeah?" He misses his next shot, just a bit off on the angle, giving her the chance to block (14).

"Well, shit."

And after he announced that new rule and misses, she sinks in her next shot (dex 20 total).

"If you say so," she says, smirking slightly and chuckling.

He really should have seen that coming. It's just his luck that he would lose a game he should have been awesome at. But then he glances up and sees that little smirk and a dopey sort of smile comes over his face instead. She could beat him at every game in this place, and as long as she kept smiling at him? It would be okay. Plus, it was awesome that she was good at the games in the first place

"This place is open pretty late, so we can come back if you want, but... I had another thing for tonight. Somewhere else." So eloquent. "If that's okay?"

"Don't worry. I'll share too."

But she had fun, and they both played well. Besides, he doesn't seem to torn up about it.

"I am flexible and open," she said, her smile a little devilish. Sorry, innuendo just sort of...is a thing with her. "Let's go."

Woman, you are going to kill him with that talk, Jesus. He just stammers and nods, heading back to the food area to collect her winnings (the pizza) in a to go box, and heading out for the car. He opens a door for the backseat and drops the pizza back there, but turns back to her after.

"We can walk, I think. If you're not too cold?"

"Nope, I'm fine." She reaches out and takes his hand. "Lead the way, cowboy."

Andrew glances down when she takes his hand, his own tightening just slightly to signal that- yes, he is okay with this. London's busy this evening, people walking about, cars whizzing by. The walk will take them a few minutes, so he better come up with some good conversation in the meantime, right?

"So- uh... what do you like to do for fun? Other than beat me bloody at air hockey, I mean." Did they talk about this? They may have talked about this. He's so bad at small talk. HELP.

Yup, they sure did already talk about this. But, fortunately, Bo doesn't...remember that with her Int check of 4.

"Oh a little of this and a little of that. Weapons training or the clubs if I'm feeling feisty. Shopping if I'm feeling girly. Movies and popcorn if I feel like a night in."

You should join in on some night when Ella and I do movie marathons then. Stay up all night and pass out in a bucket of pop corn, surrounded by cans of dr pepper.

[Probably weird to talk about your best friend who is a girl on a date but Andrew doesn't know better really. As they walk, he turns at a street and the London Eye is visible in the distance..]

You don't have an issue with heights, do you?

"Sounds like like a hell of a night to me. I'll bring the ice cream."

No movie night is complete without ice cream, alright? That's just a fact. As for Ella coming along? That might fly.

For awhile.

"Nope, I'm kind of a daredevil. I can handle it."

"Great." To both of those things, really. In his perfect world, Andrew gets to have his best friend and a girl he likes around all the time forever. He doesn't really understand how the world works, honestly. A few blocks later and Andrew gestures towards their obvious destination.

"So? See as you knew about my issues with getting a date before you even agreed to going on this one... Good?"

"Very good." Is that a ferris wheel? If so, it's the biggest one she's probably ever seen. Her hand squeezes his briefly before she probably starts to pull him along, because she sure did just speed up her walking.

Best date ever, tbh.

His shoulders sag lightly with relief. If this didn't work out, he was out of ideas and would have had to end the night. And that's pretty much the last thing he wants.

The package he bought gives them a private capsule with plenty of room to move around, sit or stand. There's a bottle of champagne waiting and some chocolates. It's a very romantic package, really. Probably more than a first date really calls for. Whoops...

Andrew starts poking around while they wait for the 30 minute rotation trip to start.

"You ever been on this before?"

Oh man, he's really pulling out all the stops. She doesn't even know where to start honestly. It's not like guys haven't done some pretty impressive things to try and get in her pants (it's not all that hard though, really, if that's all she wants), but it's different this time, partially because that's not all Andrew seems to want. If anything, the idea of her pants seems to freak him out right now.

"Can't say I have. It's not the kind of thing I'd really want to do alone."

"Well, it's not always like this. I mean you can go during the day with friends. Or at night with anyone. They'll fill capsules up with strangers if you don't mind that. Did that once, though... Not really interested in being trapped with random weirdos for a half hour all over again."

Realizing that he's rambling, Andrew snaps his mouth shut, a blush creeping into his cheeks. "Sorry. I tend to just ... go when I'm nervous." Word vomit. It happens.

She just grins, shaking her head.

"So long as you just remember to breathe every once in awhile."

She leans forward to pop the champagne.

"I'm sorry if I'm still making you nervous. I'd hoped that would have calmed down by now."

[badexample]

"Don't apologize. I mean it's not your fault I'm an idiot." Making jokes about himself tends to be easier than facing the fact that he doesn't really know what he's doing.

"But for what it's worth? It's nothing you're doing. You've been great. Better than great. And that's the thing. I just... I've never been out with someone like you. I sort of feel like I'm going to wake up any minute and realize I dreamed the whole thing up."

"You really should stop saying that. You're not an idiot."

No really, he's obviously brilliant in his own way, and she doesn't remember being treated this well....ever.

"Well, you're not dreaming. So no pinching or jumping or anything else crazy, got it? Besides, is it really that hard to believe that you could go out with someone and have a good time?"
