Unlike the grandiose nature of the squiring ceremony each Knight undergoes upon their initial entrance into the Knighthood, the graduation to Full Knight status takes place in a much more intimate affair, between the Knight, their mentor, invited friends, and the members of the sect to which they will be inducted. There's no pompous music, no stolid rank and file, no elaborate march.

Faye's invitees are given seats of honor at the front of the ranks of the Dragon's Fire members  and Nessa, Wynn, and Hasmed wait up at the front of the room for Faye to approach them, but the attitude of the ceremony is much more relaxed, full of smiles and light conversation on all sides from the other sect members.

Wynn finally gets things rolling, by saying in his loud listen-to-me voice: "Approach and kneel, Sir Faye Chamberlain."

Then by the power of my office as Section Leader, I grant to you, Faye Chamberlain, the title of Full Knight of the Dragon's Fire. [ He nods to Faye and gestures for her to rise. ]

[She gets to her feet, smile inching across her face slowly.]

[DADDY'S SO PROUD, FAYE. It's clearly written on his face too when he approaches her.]

Well. You made it, my dear. Welcome to the Dragon's Fire.

[bittersweeter]

[ lila swans over with a drink to shove in faye's hands because she is a true boo. ] I'm not buying you another present for this. [ christmas only. no more. ]

[She can't help but smile when Gold approaches. He's proud and she knows it. What she didn't expect was to be so happy to see him proud.]

Thanks. I guess now is when the fun starts, huh?

[Taking the drink, Lila might recognize that bracelet she's wearing. lesbians She smirks.]

And here I was hoping for matching earrings. Glad you could make it.

Don't get your hopes up. [ but she totally pulls out a little box with a pair of earrings from her dress. spending money is how she shows affection. the bracelet was a present and a barb -- since faye needed a bracelet to replace the one lila won in their bet. the earrings are just a present. ] I already bought it, so this doesn't count.

[Opening the box, Faye has a victorious sort of smile. Nailed it. But instead of rubbing in that she got it exactly right, she just makes quick work of replacing the earrings she has on for the new ones.]

Uh huh. So what do you think? Do I look knightly enough?

[bittersweeter]

Very. [ but she's shaking her head with a smirk, so. IN ANY CASE, she leans forward and kisses faye on the cheek. ] Congrats, loser.

[At the gesture, Faye smiles. She actually smiles- not smirking for once.]

Thanks. Now we just need to get Eric to get his head out of his ass and we'll really be in business.

[bittersweeter]

Physically impossible. [ she shrugs, waving a hand like whatever. she's over it. ] Hey, you're gonna get a squire now! [ haaaaaaa! ]

[That has... never dawned on her until now.] Oh my god- you're right.

[Andie may have brought snacks. And she also may be having a hell of a time staying in her seat and paying attention. But whenever she does look up to the ceremony she is grinning like crazy because she's super happy for Faye and it's totally not personal she's just adhd personified.]

So I was thinking, maybe we cou- AHH! [Faye was in the middle of talking to some random member of the Dragon's Fire that we will handwave existing or something. Next thing she knows, she's all but tackled by Andie's hug. Once she figures out what's going on, she just starts laughing.]

[ pat pat, this is why lila is around. to think about the important shit. ] Bet you those earrings that they give you someone twice as bitchy as you for payback.

[Alainn is always glad to see a new member of the Dragon's Fire, especially since she is actually in the castle for this ceremony. She has no idea who Faye is, or who half of the people here are now because she had been gone so long on missions, but that doesn't change her enthusiasm.

She plants herself next to the food table, drink in one hand and chatting with one of the other members]

[ guess who finds her, hur hur hur ] Sir O'Rourke. Such a surprise to see you.

[That drink Alainn had just taken a swig of sure almost came right back out again at that oh-so-familiar voice behind her. She cringes, swallowing painfully before turning to see her Section Head with the same amount of dread she would imagine one would face the headsman, plastering on what she hopes is a pleasant face.]

Sir Hashmed, what a nightmare surprise. [Ahem] How nice to see you.

A pleasure you would have more often were you ever on duty, I imagine.

I think I've learned better than to bet my jewelry against you.

[Are you not even going to say hello to the guest of honor??? Faye finds Alainn and gives her a quick glance to size her up.]

So who are you?

[Yeah she's still not exactly the friendliest.]

If by fun, you mean getting you're own squire and being expected to be a role model, then yes. But I doubt that's anything you can't handle. You've come a long way.
