Unlike the grandiose nature of the squiring ceremony each Knight undergoes upon their initial entrance into the Knighthood, the graduation to Full Knight status takes place in a much more intimate affair, between the Knight, their mentor, invited friends, and the members of the sect to which they will be inducted. There's no pompous music, no stolid rank and file, no elaborate march.

Faye's invitees are given seats of honor at the front of the ranks of the Dragon's Fire members  and Nessa, Wynn, and Hasmed wait up at the front of the room for Faye to approach them, but the attitude of the ceremony is much more relaxed, full of smiles and light conversation on all sides from the other sect members.

Wynn finally gets things rolling, by saying in his loud listen-to-me voice: "Approach and kneel, Sir Faye Chamberlain."

[ guess who finds her, hur hur hur ] Sir O'Rourke. Such a surprise to see you.

[That drink Alainn had just taken a swig of sure almost came right back out again at that oh-so-familiar voice behind her. She cringes, swallowing painfully before turning to see her Section Head with the same amount of dread she would imagine one would face the headsman, plastering on what she hopes is a pleasant face.]

Sir Hashmed, what a nightmare surprise. [Ahem] How nice to see you.

A pleasure you would have more often were you ever on duty, I imagine.

[With an 18 will save, she manages to not stick her tongue out at him like a child, instead smiling demurely, turning her head to the side.]

My apologies, Sir Hashmed, for my absence. After the mission to Japan I had a family matter arise which I had to address. I spoke to Wynn of my leave, and in my haste I forgot to speak with you.

[And with a mighty bluff check of...17 the most she can hope for is that he will be annoyed enough to just huff and walk off.]

[ the look on his face makes it clear that he's well aware she's full of shit. ] Strange that Wynn made no mention of it.

[Gulp] Well he was probably too busy doing... Wynn things... to mention it.

[Yeah, she is totally looking around, fishing for anyone or anything to get her the heck outta dodge. She knew there was a reason she usually avoided parties exclusive to the Dragon's Fire, and she was staring him right in the face. Sir Hashmed knew how to suck the fun out of a carnival, much less a party where there were few enough Knights that you had no chance of slipping away unseen.]

Yes, well... My apologies, Sir Hashmed. [Said in the most begrudging-trying-not-to-sound-begrudging-voice ever.]
