It's probably a very good thing that Gold sweet-talked them a car in the nearby tiny Scottish village of Oakhurst, because it is freezing cold out and snow blankets almost everything around. Walking the seven miles up the Old Road to the ruins would be a bitch and a half.

Instead, they comfortably drove past rocky downs, near stands of old-growth oak covered in snow, and past two farms that looked abandoned. No other travelers were visible on the lonely road, which finally curves, passing east of a narrow ravine. Belle signals for them to pull over here, where, at the road's closest approach to the cleft, several broken pillars jut from the earth where the ravine widens and opens into something akin to more of a deep, but narrow, cavern. Two of the pillars stand straight, but most of them lean against the sloped earth. Others are broken and several have apparently fallen into the darkness-shrouded depths. A few similar pillars are visible on the opposite side of the ravine.

[Hook gives her a sympathetic look, then gets up and walks over to Gold.] Dunno. [To check, Hook kicks him (atk 13, dmg 2). Sleep through that, bitch.]

[Gold, as he was apparently in the DEEPEST OF COMAS, snaps out of it with a cry of pain and FUCKING DRAWS HIS GUN, BECAUSE HE HAS ONE AND NOW YOU GET TO SEE IT. It was in his coat pocket the whole time.]

Give me one good reason not to pull the trigger, Captain, because I can't seem to think of one.

[ emma's crit fail sense motive means she assumes EVERYTHING IS OKAY HERE and goes back to sleep yep. without a second look at lila. ]

[You don't have to tell Gold twice. He glares at Hook and then shoves his gun somewhere and tries to go back to sleep. Maybe he'll have less shitty dreams this time.]

[Hook considers kicking Gold again but tbh he was only bringing up the watch thing because Gold was a dick who slept through the battle. Instead he goes back over to Lila.]

You should try to sleep more. Sorry we woke you.

[ she sighs and smiles weakly. ] I won't be able to sleep again. [ but she struggles to her feet and in doing so grabs on to hook to help herself up so she can go sit back against the wall, scooping her gun up in still shaking hands. ] I'll be fine, I've had worse.

[Hook watches her for a moment, then sits down next to her, giving her a bit of a smile.]

I'll sit up with you, then.

[At least until her hands stop shaking.]

Okay. [ she doesn't fight him because she is a delicate, fragile little thing after blowback. her nightmares aren't dreams, usually, just twisted memories and even when they're not that bad... they're that bad. after a while her hands do stop shaking and she uses that as an opportunity to pull out her little baggie of pills and make herself a cocktail. ]

[ lila watches their pitycleric with mild interest, wondering how much conditioner it would take to tame his hair and steadily eating through a chocolate bar she is using like a spoon for the peanut butter. because no one else is awake to judge her horrible eating habits. ]

[ emma's the next to awake, and she'll only minimally side-eye lila for her food choices. emma's not much better with one of those brand name meal bars that are half sugar and have chocolate and cranberries or whatever the fuck else in them to cover the taste of oats and asshole. ]

Morning. [ she runs her fingers through her hair to try and chill it out which is ... just not going to happen so she gives up and shoves it all as one big mass over her shoulder. fighting + sleeping on a backpack is not making for a good hair day. at least her curls are still hanging in there. ] Think we should let the others keep sleeping?

I dunno. [ sorry emma, she is made on no1curr. but she elbows hook to wake him up regardless. ] We should have packed detangler.

[Hook yawns and stretches. He went to sleep shortly after Lila got her shit together, so he's pretty well rested. He sits up, giving Emma a smile that's still half asleep.] Morning, gorgeous. [He glances over at Lila and nods.] Lila.

emma will stuff the two potions she never drank last night into her pockets, because she's feeling more human now - sleep, it seemed, was all it took. she gets to her feet while she packs her remaining food back inside of the backpack and zips it up, moving to where belle and rumple lie and nudging the dark one with her foot. ]

[ THEY AREN'T LYING RIGHT NEXT TO EACH OTHER... probably...

but belle wakes up anyway, looking around as she blinks away the weariness ]

[MAYBE SHE SUBCONSCIOUSLY WENT TO SLEEP NEAR HIM TO MAKE SURE HE DOESN'T COMA OUT AGAIN. YOU DON'T KNOW... or i guess you do.

Anyway, Gold makes an agitated sound, because jesus christ, does everyone have to touch him to wake him up. He swats at Emma's leg.]

I'm awake. [Mostly. He sits up, anyway.] And the sooner we get out of this place, the better. [So let's wake up and go find some gd apples, gang.]

[ she glances around at the north, east, and south exits from the room. ]

Any ideas? [ well scary guy had come out of the north one, maybe that was the best to start with, on second thought. so emma starts to approach it, glancing around warily to make sure it's not trapped (spot 18). ]

[Hook has no problem getting out of here. He stands up, glancing down at Lila.]

Got any more of that food?

[lol like Hook knows how to pack for himself.]

Yeah, sure. [ standing up and tucking the jar of peanut butter away, she flings a baggie of granola at him and an apple. she spent the whole night eating, which is the only reason she is willing to share food right now. she pulls out a couple more bags of granola for belle and gold. MAYBE SCRUFFY MCGNOME TOO because apparently she is in a sharing mood. she is oprah and everyone gets a humpback whale. plus then her bag is lighter. so everyone take the food from her. ]

There's a lass. May the Stern smile upon you. [ he takes it very gratefully, gobbling it down with little grace as emma moves towards the spot where the bugbear had emerged from. he hadn't bothered to shut the door after him, so it's hanging wide open, clearly not trapped.

beyond is a rough cavern whose floor is stained as if regularly drenched in blood. luminescent fungus reveals an eastern niche, which holds a matted-hair-and-fur pallet, a wide wooden board on which a variety of crude but deadly weapons is affixed, and a great-coat of patchy black fur hangs on a slender pole. to the edge of the niche are two large nests. ]

[ this room is sketchy enough that emma is overly cautious and holds back as she searches it for a search check of 4. whee. it's not her fault it's gross as fuck. ]

[Hook grins his thanks at Lila and follows Emma. He's not all that grossed out, apparently, since he's still just chowing down on his breakfast as he searches, but it also means he's not looking as carefully as he might (search 11).]

[ hook's attention would mostly be caught by the weapons on the board: six javelins, a longsword, two spears, and a bastard sword. ]
