The party arrives in the bustling city of Cairo around mid-day, where it's a beautiful 70 degrees outside compared to the cold London January they came from. Along with whatever gear they brought individually for tomb raiding*, Wynn has also sent them with a chest of 2,000 gold pieces - because the woman who has promised to take them to meet Raegos (the only living man who can claim to have seen the lost tomb) plans to meet them at an antiquities auction.
Wynn has pre-arranged with the woman, who goes by the name of the Mithral Scarab, to recognize the party by the fact that they will cast several bids at the auction - and all of their opening bids will always be exactly ten gold more than the starting price. Once she has recognized them, she will find a way to show them a symbol of the Knights of the Silver Dragon discreetly to identify herself, and they are to follow her away from the crowd. Raegos' rumored paranoia concerning anyone else learning his location seems well demonstrated by the levels of security embedded in Scarab's directions.
The auction itself is a direct result of the recent elemental-driven storm that has unearthed a number of structures long buried in the desert. Some industrious tomb raiders have already taken to looting the lesser pyramids, and this underground sale promises to deliver some of the discovered goods into the hands of eager collectors. Wynn's generous supply of furnished gold was delivered to them with explicit instructions to purchase anything that they thought might be an item of actual valuable historical or magical significance, to become the property of the Knighthood.

[And then he'll move to Lis'sa to retrieve the rope before he attempts to scale to the entrance (climb 18).]

[He mutters to himself;] I need to find a vestige with some damned wings.

the entry shaft that slopes down looks to be about 300 feet long, with a 10 foot high ceiling. the slope is gentle enough to walk down towards the pyramid's central core, and the walls as they pass by are blanketed in tiny hieroglyphic etchings. lis'sa slows a bit to look at them with a flashlight. ] Names. There must be thousands of them. [ she moves her light to shine across the opposite wall. ] Tens of thousands.

S'he buried with the entire city? [ she looks around, eyes wide as she draws her dagger. ] So many mummies...

[ the long sloping entry shaft suddenly ends, leveling out. the transition is marked by a magnificent facade of jet-black stone covered in glowing violet symbols.
a large rune in the center of the arch is surrounded by five smaller glyphs. lis'sa raises her light to it, frowning. ]
Loosely translated: 'Point of no return'.
[ her light catches something else, and a low moan behind the pillar echoes through the hallway. she refocuses the light that way - as a desiccated husk shambles forward. its flesh, such as it is, is barely visible beneath layers of ancient funerary wrapping, which are themselves covered in arcane symbols and hieroglyphics. its one good eye stares fixedly on its prey.

As Riddick pulls Lis'sa out of the way, Dimitri moves in, jabbing forward with it and hopefully doing some damage to the walking corpse. Ew. (Nat 20, dmg 22)]

I knew there would be mummies and curses - but you just wouldn't listen.

and then it's mummy's turn. he slams an arm into dimitri (atk 25; 9 dmg if it hits), and lis'sa takes another shot (atk 24; dmg 11), which staggers it slightly, and it lets out a low moan. ]

Yeah I've got it's spell right here!
[Atk: 22, Dmg 5] [Did you imply Phineas was "self-respecting"? You should re-evaluate your stance on that.]
