It's Valentine's Day! All around people are happily snuggling up with their loved one or drowning their feelings in booze and/or ice cream. Give out cards or chocolate or commiserate with other single people! Whoo Valentine's Day!

Mhm. [hold on he has to eat some more.] I got you something. Probably laying it on a little thick, but I don't remember ever celebrating Valentine's Day, so. Trying to make it count and all that.

[ she drops her fork. ] Where, what is it, can I have it?

[he pulls a small box out of his jacket pocket and slides it across the table to her. inside the box is a watch. and bitch you know getting a jaeger-lecoultre was intentional.]

[ did you know that lila has super speed? because in opening this present she sure does. and then she stops, lips parting in surprise, fingers tracing around the edge of the watch face. glancing up, she chews on her thumbnail. her knuckles brush across her lips in a rare nervous habit as she looks down shyly. ]

You got me a watch.

[watchmaker]

[he's not sure what he expected her reaction to be, but her nervousness is suddenly making him feel a little unsure.]

Do you like it? I know it's not ... exactly the same as your grandad's, but it's the same maker and everything.

[bittersweeter]

[ her fingers curl around the watch and she gets up, circling the table to sit in his lap, arms going around his neck. ] It's perfect. I love it. [ brief interlude for a kiss. ] Thank you.

[watchmaker]

[oh hello there. his arms go around her waist while she goes in for the kiss.] You're welcome. Besides, you got me a watch first, it was the least I could do.

[ she laughs a little. she keeps looking at the watch like oh hey there and she's one of those people who wear it with the face on the inside, so her arm is just casually on the table and she keeps casually twisting it to look at the face. one track mind while she omnomnoms. ] I only have one line, you interrupted me. I'm guessing it's perfectly on time?

[watchmaker]
