It's not pretty. And I slept through half of it. [ but she caught up on the news, so she still knows what went down. ] Archer remains, as always, good quality entertainment.

I'm going to have to meet this Archer one day. He sounds like a good time.

[ a beat, before words just spill out of her mouth, apologetically like she doesn't want to be putting this on felicity but she can't stop herself. ] God, it's such a mess here. Everything sucks. Everyone is on edge or depressed or just fucking batshit. It's like a swirling pool of chaos and it blows. I want to come home, I hate everything. But I don't want to be near people because it is so hard pretending to be okay for other people's sakes so I don't make them feel bad because I can't summon a fuck to give about anything. I adore Rafael, but I don't give a shit one way or another if he goes to jail right now, I just want it to be over.

[Felicity sighs softly, a look of sympathy on her face because she gets it.]

Where are you, in the trial? Has the defense started yet?

I don't... I don't even know. [ she shakes her head helplessly. ] I pay attention for like a minute and then I escape to sit in the hall. I just can't give a fuck.

[ she twists the screen on her tablet to show felicity the massive explosion of hundreds of flowers in the room. literally, hundreds of flowers, most of them white, with bursts of purple and orange and a little red because there are some poppies because a lot of her favorite flowers are poisonous, oops. it looks like a florists blew up in the hotel. she slowly turns the screen back to herself, smiling softly. so in love it's gross. but this was definitely a good subject change because violet has visibly relaxed. ] Did you know it's Valentine's Day? Because I sure was not aware when I woke up this morning and then surprise, all the flowers in Chicago are now in my room. I smell so good right now.

[She smiles widely at that. She did know it was Valentine's Day, and she's glad to see that at least the elf was on top of it.]
