It's Valentine's Day! All around people are happily snuggling up with their loved one or drowning their feelings in booze and/or ice cream. Give out cards or chocolate or commiserate with other single people! Whoo Valentine's Day!

It is very much yes.

[ SHE DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO HANDLE YES EITHER. she looks rather dumbfounded, bright eyes searching his like that will help her makes sense of his answer. he said yes to her question, which means he wants to marry her. this is good. she knows this is good -- this is what she's wanted from the day they met.

something fuzzy blurs her eyes and when she reaches up to rub the heel of her hand across her cheek she realizes she's crying. ]

Really? I'm not... dreaming? This would be the worst dream ever. [ because she'd have to wake up. ]

No more dreams, love. [ he reaches up to wipe some of her tears away and kisses her, with a gentle intensity, as if to ground her in the fact that no this is real. ]

[ she pinches herself, hard enough to bruise and make herself wince, but it's really luthir that convinces her. it doesn't stop the tears though, but she's certainly not sad, especially if the way she just lights up is any indication. they're happy tears, for once, exacerbated by her complete inability to hold in her emotions at the present time.

everything is still spiders. life still sucks, she still sort of wants to go back to bed, honestly, but at the same time she can see the light at the end of the tunnel and now, finally, reaching it depends on staying alive.

it's that's not something to shoot for, she doesn't know what is.

jade would be proud. she found what she wanted and she isn't ever going to let go of it. but with that in mind, wiping her cheeks again and huffing out a sigh of a laugh, she adds something else, almost apprehensive. ]

Let's not... tell anyone. I mean, Des and Raf lost Jade and Myri and Finnick are... [ she trails off helplessly, apologetic. ] It sort of feels... mean. Being happy when they're not.

[ not that vi is happy by any stretch of the word, but she has a happy place. ]

A secret engagement? [ he gives her an amused smile, light sparking in his eyes ] I can see some appeal in keeping this between our hearts.

How very Jane Austen. [ she wrinkles her nose at him, like shush, mr darcy. she didn't mean it quite so romantic comedy. ] For now.

I will leave it in your hands to decide when the time is right to reveal all.

[ welp. she might never tell anyone, actually. if only because it looks like everything will always be spiders. she can't see people being happy any time soon. but she doesn't touch that, changing the subject. ]

So... since I am the one that did the proposing, does that mean... I get to pick out the rings?

[ look they're gonna live for hundreds of years. spiders don't live that long. ] If you would like to, then certainly.

[ she still doesn't believe that, okay. and her friends will not live forever. ]

We could always elope -- in Vegas. We could get married by an Elvis impersonator.

[ like her dad that she doesn't remember... :'( ]

[ raised. eyebrow. ] I was thinking, perhaps, something outdoors.

There's outdoors in Vegas. [ but she doesn't push, at all. ] But I suppose you're right.

Sometimes. [ he gives her the smallest, warm smile. ]

I'm still pro-eloping though. Just, for the record.

[ he draws her to his chest, with a small smile ] I, myself, am supportive of any plan that involves our two hearts together as one.

So that's two for eloping then. [ yes, she is just going to turn that in agreeing with her tbh. not that she would because myri would be sad and she is incapable of making myri sad when it's within her power. ]

The question becomes where you would like to go afterward to celebrate.

Vegas. [ she's kidding this time. ] I don't know. I sort of just assumed the castle. You know, home.

I can certainly appeal in going home... together.

Yeah, I'm big on the together part.

I love you, Helillóte. [ his voice drops to a low murmur as he tilts his forehead against hers, and raises her hand to his lips. ]

[ ahahaha so adorable. he gives the cutest smile at that, and wraps her in his arms. ] Amin mela lle.

Sounds so much better when you say it. [ just going to get comfy in that hug tbh. ]
