It's over. After months of being sidelined by the trial of their friend Rafael, the Knights are finally free to return to England and see what headway the Dragon's Claws have made on discovering the location of the Talisman they seek.

But not everyone is so free to return. The consequence of getting Burt's assistance in disentangling Finnick from his contract and super-stardom was an ironclad agreement that allows Burt to sink his claws fully into Rafael's career. Considering that Burt knows their secret identity, non-disclosure agreement or not, the executive's renowned moral gray-itude doesn't exactly make it seem like a great plan to back out on the compromise.

They've at least been able to put off their goodbyes for a few days since the end of the trial, as Burt invited all of them to New York City for the opening of his brand new nightclub. Some of them flew out, while Archer and Des presumably drove their matching El Caminos cross-country in the days between. But now they've all met again in the Big Apple, for a celebration - and farewell of sorts.

[ between the alcohol and the hypnotic beat and pulse of the crowd, and the fact that both of them are just bangin' hot dancers, elena would indeed feel a sort of euphoric rush, of a much healthier variety than the kind at, say, nightscape. not that she ever went there. but SHH.

at one point, zarad lowers his head beside hers, ostensibly to be able to talk without raising his voice too much. but it has the added benefit of allowing her to feel his breath against her ear as he says with a sort of wicked amusement: ] You know... Des made me promise to behave myself around his friends. [ he grins, glancing over at her, as his hand slides to the small of her back. ] Now I can see why.

[Gotta love the club vibe. Clearly she needs to get out more often, because she's getting into this more than she probably should.

Her head leans slightly in toward his, a grin spreading across her lips as she looks back at him with something less innocent than her usual expression.]

What can I say, we're an interesting crowd.

I do like interesting. [ he chuckles, a low sound she can feel through his chest. ] Unfortunate for me that I don't like going back on my word. [ he turns to study her with a playful gaze. ]

[Archer is glaring at this whole dancing situation from across the bar, with one of Burt's "models" around each arm.]

[Body shots with hookers - totally O.K. Dancing with other men - Not cool at all.]

Well, it is a party. I don't see why drinking and dancing isn't behaving.

[Her eyebrows lift expectantly, as if she's daring him.]

[ he grins right back, clearly undaunted by whatever challenge she feels like offering. ] I don't remember saying this was misbehaving. [ and he maneuvers behind her smoothly as they dance, adding: ] We could do this all night.

I wouldn't say no to that. My legs might at some point, though.

[She leans back a bit, her hip movements syncing with his.]

as they sway in time, bodies pressed together, he chuckles again into her neck. ]

Then we'll just have to make the most of the time we have.

[She chuckles softly, looping her arm around his neck as her head lays back against his shoulder.]

I might throw a fit if one of my friends tries to drag me away before then.

[She loves them, but they can be over-protective sometimes.]

I might enjoy seeing that, actually. [ he grins, one hand sliding down along her hip. ] You strike me as the feisty type.

[He's probably drunk enough to cause a scene now. Archer drags Burt's "model" Candi out onto the dance floor, and oh-so unsubtly "bumps" (Damn near tackles) into Elena and Zarad.]

Oh pardon me, complete strangers - I was just enthusiastically dancing with this poster child for advanced plastic surgery when - gasp! [No, yeah - he actually says 'gasp'] Elena? We were all wondering where you ran off to. Who is this totally-not-complete-ass-douche-bag-looking gentleman? [He probably would know, if he hadn't run off so quickly with Burt. :l ]

[ zarad grips elena as they get roughly jostled by archer's 'accidental' collision, looking over at him with amusement in his eyes. ] Zarad Lorel. [ to elena, with a smirk: ] I take it you know this guy?

[Elena's head whips around to get pissy at whoever didn't bother to look before they got slammed into, only to see...Archer. And some busty fake-boobed hooker. :|]

Speak of the devil. [Muttered under her breath.] What do you want, Archer?

[You're not allowed to bust in here with a girl on your arm and do the jealous routine. ~~She's totally not jealous either, so there.~~]

[Des must have finally passed a reflex save- or Buffy helped him- because suddenly he's there, clapping a hand on Zarad's shoulder.

...it's actually not really a friendly, affectionate gesture so much as it's a "help I'm going to fall over and I need you to be my leverage" gesture]

Since Archer's here to ruin everything as usual... [He swallows down a hiccup.] ...Mind if I cut in?

[ the hooker gives elena a judgmental sneer, pressing herself up against archer's arm that she's hanging onto, as zarad's head swivels around to regard the very drunk des behind them. he looks slightly entertained by this entire series of events, lip quirking up as he teases: ] I thought you didn't dance.

Forget dance, I can barely stand.

[he chuckles drunkenly, but he hasn't let go of zarad's shoulder..] Hell of a night, don'tcha think?

Well - [Archer had a response, Elena - but he stops mid-phrase when Des comes over, and he grits his teeth, and clenches a fist.]

"Ruin everything as usual," he said jack-assedly to the guy who bought him a FREAKIN new car.

Why am I not shocked that you know this prick?
[He spits on the ground at Zarad.]

[She narrows her eyes at him, because dude she asked you a question.]

Oh, because your current company just screams class.

Hey! She is a single mother of three, who is working hard to put herself through college, ok?

[Archer looks at Candi;]

I mean, right? I'm... just assuming.

[ candi scowls, folding her arms and leaning away to give elena a disdainful once-over.

"I'm a model. Who are you supposed to be?"

zarad's eyes follow archer's spit to the ground, but he does nothing more than continue smirking, a dangerous glint flashing in his eyes, but no sign of being offended. he turns to elena, pleasantly apologetic, as he releases her and slips his arm around des' shoulders to support him. ]

Regrettably, it looks like I have to cut this short after all. [ he nods to des, like hoo-wee, someone needs to babysit this drunk motherfucker. ]

That's what all of Burt's call girls say so that don't get arrested. As for who I am, that's none of your business. Besides, I'm pretty sure you aren't getting paid to actually open your mouth.

[Drunk Elena is a bitch sometimes. Surprise! She glances over her shoulder at Zarad, giving him an equally apologetic smile.]

I can't say I've ever seen him that bad. Maybe I'll see you later?

Maybe indeed. [ he gives her a lingering grin, and then starts dragging des off, just as elena feels someone grab her shoulder and whip her around. ut oh.

"What did you just say to me, bitch?!" ]

[Her head swings around, eyes dangerous.]

Do you really want me to repeat it? I'd be glad to add a few choice words I was nice enough to leave out the first time.

[ yeah, the hooker has had enough of that shit with her will save of like... 3. she moves forward too quickly to try to grab elena's hair and trips in her hooker heels, stumbling into her instead. elena can make a reflex save (DC 13) or go tumbling down to the floor too. ]

[Yeah, she got a 21 reflex save, so she'll just deftly slip out of the way, looking down at the poor girl from above with raised eyebrows.]

Well, that was fun.

[She even leaves out the comment of her finally being on her back where she belongs 8D]
