What was supposed to be a night to unwind wound up with a confrontation between Failboat and Keijen Blade that didn't exactly go the way the team was hoping for. However, in the process, they at least managed to get Isabella back and extract Dumage from her long term undercover assignment.

The remainder of the night is spent back at the hotel, recuperating, in order to catch the flight back to London the next morning. This also means saying goodbye to those who will be going back to Chicago: Isabella, Burt, and Rafael.

[Yeah whatever you don't see Spike whining about being immortal. Of course, he only remembers like two years of his life so give him a few centuries.

He looks interested now, sitting up and turning his full focus on Des. For all his protesting and general dislike of certain Italian singers, Spike's actually a great deal more artsy than he'd admit. It's not just poetry. It's music too.]

We showed up late, but I saw Joplin. After that thunderstorm hit after Joe Cocker's set, the group I was with called it a bust and went home, but I wasn't leaving until Hendrix. Ended up hitchhiking back to New Orleans, but it was worth it.

Must've been brilliant. [Spike glances at the closed shades of the airplane wistfully.] Wonder if I went. I was probably already around and doing my undead thing.

It was pretty intense. I fell asleep halfway through The Who and because I was beat. Next thing I know, my nightmares are playing in time to "White Rabbit." Luckily that many freakin' people high off their ass didn't notice one guy yelling like he'd been shot.

[He smirks.] Kinda funny now.

Funny how that happens in retrospect. [Spike doesn't have any memories old enough to be funny in retrospect, but he suspects more than a few of his experiences with failboat will go that way eventually. But not just yet.]
