Unlike the grandiose nature of the squiring ceremony each Knight undergoes upon their initial entrance into the Knighthood, the graduation to Full Knight status takes place in a much more intimate affair, between the Knight, their mentor, invited friends, and the members of the sect to which they will be inducted. There's no pompous music, no stolid rank and file, no elaborate march.

Emma's invitees are given seats of honor at the front of the ranks of the Dragon's Fire members and Gold, Wynn, and Hasmed wait up at the front of the room for Emma to approach them, but the attitude of the ceremony is much more relaxed, full of smiles and light conversation on all sides from the other sect members.

Wynn finally gets things rolling, by saying in his loud listen-to-me voice: "Approach and kneel, Sir Emma Swan."

[ The ceremony itself is enough to make Emma uncomfortable; she'd rather it took place in an office and just involved handing her some kind of pin or badge. That's what Graham had done, but he'd understood her a great deal better than most. The relaxed atmosphere in comparison to the squiring ceremony is offset by the fact that she's the only one here. Pushing all that aside, she approaches Wynn with minor fumbling (dex 8) and gets down to kneel before him. ]

Sir Swan. You have demonstrated a commitment to the ideals of this organization that has been deemed sufficient to induct you into our order as a full Knight of the Silver Dragon. We ask at this time that you answer this question honestly:

Do you wish to accept this position?

[uncurse]

Well, I didn't make it this far just to turn back.

[ And she has to wonder how many people get here and say "lol bye." ]

I do.

[wynn]

Do you swear to defend the Knighthood?

[uncurse]

I do.

[ Unless the Knighthood is wrong. ]

[wynn]

Do you swear to respect all weaknesses, and constitute yourself the Defender of them?

[uncurse]

I do.

[wynn]

Do you swear to never recoil before thy enemy?

[uncurse]

I do.

[wynn]

Do you swear to make war against injustice, without cessation and without mercy?

[uncurse]

I do.

[wynn]

Do you swear never to lie, and to remain faithful to your pledged word?

[uncurse]

I do.

[wynn]

Do you swear to be generous, and to listen to and respect all?

[uncurse]

[ emma deliberately turns her head up towards the audience. uhhhhh. then looks back at wynn, grimacing. ]

... Can we settle for a "most" on that one?

[ he just gives her a knowing look, a tiny smile in her eyes as he waits patiently. ]

[uncurse]

[ awkward. ]

I mean, I ... do.

[wynn]

[ annnd finally: ] Do you swear to be everywhere and always the champion of the right and the good against injustice and evil?

[uncurse]

For better or for worse, ... I do.

[ lips tight, she nods. ]

Sir Hasmed. Do you accept Sir Swan as a member of the Dragon's Fire?

[ hasmed glides forward, all tall and imposing in his long robes and dour demeanor ]

Do you, Emma Swan, swear to be the flame in the night, the fire that burns away the darkness?

[uncurse]

The flame in the -- [ her brow furrows as she looks over at hasmed. ] ... This is a metaphor, right?

[ staring between them, she nods, gulping back any nervousness. ]

Definitely a metaphor. [ she mutters it under her breath and then clears her throat, raising her voice and answering more definitively; ] I do.

[eldritchweaver]

[ there is some judgin' goin' on on his old face, gurl ] Then by the power of my office as Section Leader, I grant to you, Emma Swan, the title of Full Knight of the Dragon's Fire. [ He nods to Emma and gestures for her to rise. ]

[uncurse]

[ I DON'T FEEL ANY DIFFERENT.

She stands and nods in return, turning out towards the others all knightly and official. ]
