Unlike the grandiose nature of the squiring ceremony each Knight undergoes upon their initial entrance into the Knighthood, the graduation to Full Knight status takes place in a much more intimate affair, between the Knight, their mentor, invited friends, and the members of the sect to which they will be inducted. There's no pompous music, no stolid rank and file, no elaborate march.

Myri, Wynn, and Koraith wait up at the front of the room for Elena to approach them, but the attitude of the ceremony is much more relaxed, full of smiles and light conversation on all sides. Of course, when Wynn speaks, people still hush. It's just how he rolls.

"Sir Elena Gilbert, please kneel."

All magic is teachable - at least the good kind that comes from books and shit. It helps if you have half a magic bone in your body, at least, but still.

And I've been on a mission for like a zillion years, literally. I was a teenager when I started this shit. [ mmm nuggets ]

[She'll at least swallow her mouthful before continuing because sometimes she can be classy okay... ish.] I can see dead people... Is that magical enough for me to learn how to summon McDonalds?

[Never mind learning other cool types of magic. Rose has priorities.]

Ahh so, you're with that same group Elena is always off with. [Not really a question. Rose pretty much never gets to see her best friend because she's always on some mission than feels like it lasts forever.]

Wait, like... ghosts and shit? [ she perks up. THAT SOUNDS COOL. ] Yeah! We're the ones who recruited her in the first place. She's our girl.

[It hurts like a bitch but she's kind of used to that so Rose just bobs her head from side to side then nods. Sixth Sensey stuff. NBD.] Pretty much.

Yeah she... mentioned something like that. [The grin is because she also mentioned how she maybe sorta made them take her with them. Rose might have high-fived Elena for that one.]

Totally Haley Joel. [ her eyes are all lit up now with a thousand questions ] Can you talk to them?

Only I grew up to be better looking. (K-PC 17) Yeaah, but they have trouble talking back. It's mostly, I ask questions and they nod or shake their head.

Creeepy. Do they look like they did at the moment they died? Like, if someone slit their throat, is there all this blood gushing out of their neck or whatever? [ kat asks the important questions. as she devours fries. ]

Uhhh... [Make her think Kat.] I never really paid attention. [Why you ask?] See I can see ghosts but they're not really on Team Rose. [A beat.] I died. It didn't take. They have issues with it.

You mean you've been rezzed?

[littledhampir]

I guess? I was only dead for like, a little bit. [A beat.] I think.

So I take it you don't remember any tunnels of light or out of body experiences.

[littledhampir]

More like, twisted metal and gasoline. [A beat.] Car wreck. But no. No light to head towards, at least not that I remember anyway.

Maybe all that stuff gets wiped.  I don't know if we've had any Knights brought back from the dead with stories from the afterlife either.

I think the light only comes when you actually cross over. [Conversations Rose never imagined having.] That's my theory anyway. Not one I'm really looking to test any time soon.
