The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[Rebekah (disguise 18) wanders through the room with a drink in her hand. She's still been adjusting to being here -- and with these people. There's a few familiar faces she's on the look out for, but she's generally approachable. She especially would be open to any offers to dance.]

[ her eyebrows arch dubiously and she rolls her eyes. reaching out, she takes his wine glass from him because oh stop sniffing that. ] There's punch as well, you know, if you're not a wine-drinker. [ she remarks like she's not certain if that's the case, but her actions tell a different story as she drinks from his wine glass. what? he obviously wasn't going to use it. ]

Cute dress. [ lila may seem surprised as she looks up from her phone. whaaaaat? someone with fashion sense? okay. ]

he actually looks decent which is, well, nothing short of a miracle, but that all changes the minute he starts moving. lydia refuses to even consider it dancing so much as flailing his body around.

she finally sighs and sets aside her drink, walking out onto the dance floor to grab him by the arm and steer him off of it. ]

[ lydia smiles at the compliment, looking lila over. ]

You have good taste. [ which is almost like a “yours, too.” almost. her head tilts. ] I’m Lydia.

[he takes her words into consideration, shifting puzzle pieces around in his mind. kidnapped people being returned should be a cause for happiness, but there was a knight left behind. dragon's claw, high ranking. people are fearing the worst. possibly because something like this has happened before? [ she makes a little noise of consideration at the compliment. she does has good taste, thanks. she drops her phone in her pocket, which is a big deal. because she always has her phone. ] Lila Zacharov.

Zacharov—Is that Russian? [ a beat as she gives it a second thought: ] No, I guess that'd be "Zacharova" for you.

Literal translation. I guess they're shapeshifters who can... shapeshift into other people. [ she still sounds kind of wary about crazy shit like this, but it's tempered with that fascination about it because doppelgängers sound awesome to her still. so much freedom. drinking the kool aid. ]

Russian-American. I'm sure that's as anglicanized as my great-grandfather would allow. [ she's mildly impressed. lydia is pretty smart. ] Wynn's collecting Russians apparently. But maybe I notice because for once my name isn't the hardest one to pronounce.

I'd guess so. Since they're big on identity theft. [ it seems like a logical conclusion and will is smart, he knows random things like this. ]

[She's not feeling super awesome about life, still getting used to the rhythm of things (since this is before the wedding and all that). But she's still capable of a friendly smile for those who are new to this whole place.]

[Thoster has this habit of finding people who would rather not be found. This time, he just plops himself at a chair at her table and kicks his feet up, tossing her an grin. Sure, the knights are in the thick of it, but he's lived his life by getting himself out of tight spots, so this is nothing new.]

[~omg it's the girl who was kidnapped and doppelganged.~ he treats her exactly the same as he would if she had been just some random person coming up to say hello: he forces a smile and offers his hand for shaking, but he doesn't really look at her and still emits an aura of w o w i am uncomfortable.]

I was thinking the same thing. [She lets out a small sigh, brow creasing as she looks at the crowd.] Not that I blame anyone for finding it difficult to lift their spirits.

Not really. [ she looks up a bit, but not enough to make eye contact because skittish baby bird is her general state of being. she does smile the tiniest bit. ]
