The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

There's no recognition in her eyes. Leia's a lot of things, but cruel has never been one of them. She wouldn't pretend not to recognize him. She'd be kissing him by now. She can't remember him.

He schools his expression into a more neutral smirk, then shrugs (bluff 30).]

Just a captain in the fleet. Surely even a big important princess like yourself's heard of the great Captain Han Solo, right? Even if we've never met.

[ pet pet pet. if she never has to talk to people again that would be great. just lemon. and will. and maybe alex and alanna. other people are scary. and probably cannibals. she's pro-will getting more dogs. since SHE IS NOT OLD ENOUGH TO ADOPT ONE HERSELF GOD, WILL and it's not like they can do home visits at the castle... ]

Yeah, you were a freeloader for almost a month. Now they're gonna start making you pull your own weight around here. [he smiles back. TEASING. just teasing. he's been here that long and still hasn't had to do shit.] Who's the guy you were hanging out with? Looks like he got lost on the way back to the homeless shelter?

Will. My FBI adjacent guardian. [ a beat, she smiles up at him still. ] He's the one that killed my dad.

Mm. [he taps his thumb against his cheek, like he's considering something. (because he is.)] You clean him up, get him to shave, you could have a valuable commodity there.

Most likely. [lemon would be ok with that. and will too, probably.] They're supposed to be companion dogs.

...what do you mean? [ her forehead wrinkles in confusion. does will know how to shave??? ]

Who is going to take care of them when you're gone doing... missions? [ her. the answer is i choose you, abigail. ]

[he actually crit fails the wis check for that. even will graham can fail to be intuitive sometimes :'( ] I'm sure I'll be able to find someone.

[HE DOES OKAY. just not very well apparently.] Hot. He'd be hot if you got him to shave and taught him how to dress. The potential is there. But right now it's like looking at the dumpy girl in glasses before she gets a makeover just in time for the quarterback to ask her to the school dance.

[ will. :| ] Can I do it? Lemon loves me. [ she really just wants validation that she's trustworthy enough in will's eyes to watch his dog. she shouldn't be, considering her defenestration of his crush, but he doesn't know that yet. and might not ever. ]

Yeah, I guess the guardian thing is kind of a deterrent for you, isn't it? You could consider it your gift to me.

[lemon licks abigail's hands, as if to prove her point and say YES I DO.] Sure, if you want. As long as you're not off on missions, too.

What do you-- oh! [ her eyes get huge. it's just surprise though, no derision to speak of. maybe a little more confusion as she looks between alex and wherever will is. ] You're the quarterback?

[he actually laughs at that. this child. so precious.] No, not all the time. I consider myself equal opportunity.

I'm not sure I should really go on missions. What if something... triggers my trauma. [ her eyes roll slightly at the terminology, even if it's accurate. ] And I do something bad. Dr Bloom tried to keep me from going back to the house because it would be bad for me and then we went back to the house and it was bad.

[ she breathes out a laugh, but looks down, tucking her hair behind her ear. she's a little embarrassed. ] Oh.
