The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

Well. [ That's really sweet. She presses her lips between her teeth and glances away, trying to keep her expression neutral enough that it doesn't look overly flattered. Sweet enough to effectively squash her impulse to say she's not glad she's here. Instead, she opts for the gentler, reflective: ] I guess here's not so bad. You should see their wardrobe.

If you mean before I became a squire, and before I fell through the Veil? I think I was a soldier, but my memories are kind of... fuzzy at best regarding that life.

Not sure. I think it's partly to do with the fact that I tend to let my mouth get ahead of me. Makes me seem like I don't know what I'm talking about.

[ Defensive ??? Generally sharp. The aggression lasts for a moment longer before her gaze drops, thoughtful, distant, damaged. The song ends and she pulls her hands back. ]

[The way Stiles' jaw drops probably says it all, but give him a minute...

He starts to laugh, covering his mouth with shock and pure joy at the destruction.]

Are you kidding me?! That was bad ass!

Yeah? Everyone looks pretty good. [His gaze sweeps the room for a moment before returning to look at her again.] Hard to notice when you're around, though.

I'm touched. [No but awwww] I feel like this is the start of a beautiful friendship.

Some would argue about my success rate at maintaining both, but... Yeah, it's pretty impressive. Still think you're speed definitely wins on the cool factor, though.

[ Her smile is surprisingly shy for a girl like Lydia, similarly restrained to her last, but not so easily accomplished. She makes an effort of rolling her eyes so she can at least seem to dismiss it. ]

"That a promise, Doctor?" If he seems to be flirting, it's probably because he is. But then there's nothing wrong with a good old flirt, is there? Maybe it's easier too to laugh and joke, when in truth inside he feels like doing anything but.

Really, if he let other people's opinions on him bother him then he'd never get anything done.

Without a doubt. I'm a member of the Dragon's Light, so you can usually find me lingering in that wing, just in case anyone comes by for any healing.

[His arms move to hold her a little more securely. He didn't really expect her to lean in closer like that, but he's not complaining at all.

This is a rare, silent moment from Stiles. Mostly because he's pretty sure saying anything will ruin it.]
