Whatever purpose the Church of the Lord's Humanity has in turning out a string of divinely Shadowkind musical artists, one thing can be said for certain: it's been an effective plan. Nothing proves this more than the gigantic crowd funneling into the outdoor arena where Heatless Passion is performing in NYC tonight. Goths and metalheads of both the human and non-human variety stream in, and it's difficult to tell whose strange red eyes or horns are costume and whose are natural.

The Knights' tickets are provided for, and tia leads the way inside, in a black leather dress and tall boots with numerous buckles on. it's a little clear that this is far from her element (maybe because she used to teach kindergarten), but she does her best to look confident as they're shoved through the crowd. She's established a rudimentary mindlink between them, that allows to communicate telepathically with one another, and as they move she reminds them:

Keep close. Stay sharp.

[ one of the bouncers backs away from rose's terrifying aspect - and archer's gun.

the other one, however, got a nat 20 will save so apparently he's seen some shit and is an a+ bodyguard.

he moves to try to disarm archer, but he gets an attack of opportunity that was actually a nat 20 sjdfakf wow matt. it was still only 9 dmg somehow, but since it was a nat 20, it does cause him to stagger back, where he trips on a wire hanging down from the stage. woo!

keijen watches all of this unfold with a satisfied grin, undaunted by the violence. in fact, no one in the crowd seems to care that one of the concert goers just shot a guard either. everyone's too busy being thrilled just to be in blade's presence.

[Klaus can't see through the sea of bodies either ok. He's not fucking Superman. He's just shoving bitches aside as needed to get them closer to the front of the crowd.

But he can hear what's going on--sort of. It's a loud-ass concert and there are a million people areound, so it's safe to say he isn't picking up everything perfectly, but hey.]

It would appear as though we've a few Judases in our midst. [Fucking fangirls.] And someone may or may not have just been shot.

[Spike doesn't react (will save 20), but his chin twitches slightly downwards, something that might be a nod, if Nadia's looking for it. Then he moves forward, slamming his hand into the mirror (atk 30, dmg 12). On the off chance this is some super strong mirror that doesn't break from that, he'll just... smear the lipstick with his hand while he talks. But it probably breaks. He leans forward, looming over Nadia and looking scary as hell (intimidate 35), but it's... not really aimed at her, so much as whoever's watching through her eyes. Though it still might scare her, there's not much he can do about it. He's trying to sell it.

He very purposely meets her eyes.]

So you've chosen your side, pet. Too bad for you. But you can tell whoever pulls your strings that we don't give up. Doesn't matter what they throw at us, we'll find a way out, and we'll bloody take them down. Just wait.

[Don't worry Tia, any second now Archer and Rose will make spotting them stupidly easy, Rose not so much as sparing a thought for the bouncer that Archer just shot. He was warned. Bitch.

Rose is going to seize this opportunity to climb onto the stage and with a Nat 20 on her climb check... (Rose and Nat 20s man ;; ) Keijen baby, here she comes.]

Oh my god Keijen, I love you so much! [Fangirling so hard it hurts as Rose goes in for the rock god embrace.]

[After some serious internal debating, Archer decides he cannot abide by Rose being in the lead of this... whatever this is. So, he scales after her, with a 22 Climb (Putting ranks in climb finally pays off!) ignoring the bouncer he just pumped a round into.]

[ the mirror cracks completely under spike's slam 7 years of bad luck get. her eyes widen as she freezes in place, staring up at him, lips parted in surprise at the abrupt proximity and the intensity of the declaration.

for the tiniest moment, a spark of something lights her eyes that looks almost like hope. she finally manages to find her voice, her throat dry as she nods slightly and says: ] I'll make sure he gets the message.

[telekinect]

[ well now she got a nat 20 because WHO COULD MISS WHAT'S HAPPENING UP THERE. ]

You have got to be kidding me. [ they're about halfway to the stage, so she just... starts shoving along with klaus so they can get closer faster. ]

[ the crowd cheers the success of rose, and then archer too i guess though it's less exciting when a second person accomplishes the feat, just sayin.

the guard turns to attack archer as he's clambering up (atk 23, dmg 7), undaunted by being shot, even as he bleeds from his other shoulder.

keijen turns to see rose plowing towards him and without missing a beat (literally, he rolled a 19) catches her with a low chuckle, waving off the bouncers who are trying to climb up after them. ]

Now now, let's not punish such enthusiasm. [ he leans close to her with the word, his presence remarkably overwhelming to her influenced brain. one hand lifts to grasp her chin, turning her to face the audience for a moment. ] Won't you tell the lovely people what your name is, my dear?

[Somewhere, deep down is a little voice in Rose's head that is screaming ... Suck it Archer. Rose however is far too overcome by Keijen's closeness that even bragging is forgotten. She manages to keep her swooning from becoming a full blown fainting spell at least (Will Save 20 total) as she slides a hand up Keijen's chest, visibly quivering when his fingers brush against her skin.

My Dear. See Archer. Totally a connection.]

My name, is Rose Hathaway... [Struggling to contain herself as she blows any future she has working undercover...] And - [Leaning further into the mic.] I love Keijen Blade!!!!

[Spike searches her face for another moment, then pushes himself back up.] This isn't over.

[His tone is angry, but he means it in a good way! He turns away, pulling out a cigarette and lighting it as he saunters away. Yeah, he looks super cool.

Right up until he makes it back to the concert hall and he just stops and stares.]

[Yeah, that was happening. Klaus isn't exactly panicking over here, but Tia seems stressed the fuck out enough for the both of them. He will continue roughly shoving random fans aside as they push their way closer to the stage.]

I suggest that next time, we not think twice about snapping the vampire's neck. [Just saying, gurl. Just saying.]

You know, I think you might be onto something.

[Archer languishes in defeat but for a moment - seeing Rose has beaten him to Keijen... but, disappointment soon melts into orgasmic bliss, for he is on stage with Keijen Blade.]

KEIJEN FRICKIN' BLADE! [Archer throws his hands up in the air;] WOOOOOOOOOO!

[ keijen smirks at rose, brushing her hair back over her shoulder with the back of one hand as he murmurs, entertained: ] Of course you do. [ his glance sneaks over to archer momentarily, and he snorts ]

I think our beautiful Rose here would disagree with you. Don't you, Rose?

Perhaps we can find a way to settle it. I wonder which of you would be willing to do more for me if I asked it of you.

[Oh my god Archer, seriously! Can't you see they're trying to have a moment here in front of thousands of people?!

Her heart flutters - (Yes. I said flutters) - and Rose sighs as she keeps her dreamy gaze on Keijen.

Somewhere, a six foot seven Russian is gripped with the overwhelming desire to break somebodies hand and doesn't yet know why. Touching Rose's hair is like foreplay for Dimitri.]

Forget him. He wanted to shoot you in the face before today. [Well he did.] But I'd do anything for you. [Rose turning on her charm (Cha 23 :| )] Just name it.

To be fair, I want to shoot some of my best friends in the face, too...

Also, and for the record, she's got like all the species of crabs. [Archer stares at Rose. I don't know where Archer gets standing to say that, after banging countless hookers, but... ] So, factor that into the equation.

[ ohhh archer. keijen just grins at rose, pretending to ponder for a moment. ] Just name it, hm?

Very well, then. [ he leans between them both, conspiratorially, even though the mic carries his words for everyone to hear: ] Kill yourself.

...Sure, I guess [Archer puts his underwear gun to his head.] It's "yourselves," though. There... there's two of us.
[And then he pulls the trigger with a 'click.' ... Oh right. The Chekhov gun is a derringer, so he's only got one shot, which he plugged into a bouncer.]

Huh. That's... actually pretty embarrassing. [Re-Will save attempt of... 17? I think that still fails?] Aren't I usually better at keeping track of that kind of thing? More importantly, how am I supposed to kill myself without bullets? [Archer looks legitimately confused. Maybe he could drink himself to dea... no wait, that won't work...]

[It's in her eyes, the acceptance of his words as Keijen's pull has Rose untangling only enough from him to reach into one of her long leather boots and withdraw her stake. The stage lights catch the gleaming silver, blinding several people in the front row as Rose places the point against her arm, the tip pressing into her skin.

Her head is the most peaceful it has been in months, clear of the shadows that cloud her mind and yet the serene smile she had turned on Keijen falters as a thought pops into her mind. Elena. If she died here on this stage, what would happen to Elena after all she'd been through?

That one thought breaks open a floodgate, images of everyone who matters to her flashing through her head; Elena, Davin, Luthir, Dimitri and Rose's hand starts to shake, a trickle of blood winding down her arm when the power of that last face, rips her from her dreamlike state and clears her head completely. (Will Save... Nat 20 bitches.)

Rose's instinct is to take a leaf out of Archer's playbook and stab Keijen Blade in the fucking face but a look at the screaming audience all willing her to kill herself (and a Wisdom Check of 18) is enough to make her rethink her next course of action.

Stepping back into Keijen, Rose's arm moves around his body and the very tip of the stake that had been pressing into her skin, now presses against his spine, Rose's words spoken away from the microphone as she applies enough pressure to make her intention clear.]

I don't think that's going to happen, do you? [Intimidate 28.] Now why don't you stop whatever you're doing to my friend over there and I'll let you walk away from this. [Emphasis on the walk.]

[Wow leave for five minutes to try and find the pop star you've been brainwashed into loving and everything goes to hell. He looks around (spot 22) and spots Tia and Klaus towards the front and notices that Rose has... clearly broken free of her mind control if she's threatening Keijen with a stake (that'll definitely go over well) and he doesn't really give enough fucks about Archer to worry about his mental state. Spike can always knock him out again if he needs to. The trick is how to get out of here alive. He's seen Keijen in action enough to know that Rose can't take him. Spike's pretty sure he can't take Blade, though he wouldn't let that stop him from trying.

He drops his cigarette and shoves through the crowd (str 19) to make his way over to Tia and Klaus.]

Bloody hell, that escalated quickly.

[NOTHING TO SEE HERE SPIKE IS TOTALLY FINE AND ANYONE WHO MENTIONS HIM CHARGING OFF WITH NADIA MOON EYES CAN GET BENT.]

[Klaus affords Spike a glance when he settles in beside them that conveys his thoughts well enough. Read: No. Fucking. Shit. Sherlock.]

So glad to have you with us again. [Because you were part of the problem. Dismissive as fuck ftr. He's already focused back on the stage.]

[ tia glances back at spike like oh thank fuck at least one thing is going right here. but as the crowd lets out a shocked roar at rose's threat to their beloved star, she shakes her head and curses under her breath. ]

She's going to get us all torn apart.

[ now that rose's head is clear, at least, tia puts two fingers to her temple and sends her a mental message:

Let him go, Rose, or he'll kill you and these people won't so much as blink. ]

[narcosynthesis]

[ keijen slowly turns to look at rose, giving her an appreciative once-over rather than looking scared at all, despite the blade to his spine. ]

My, my. Do you really think you'd get out of here in one piece, if you left a mark on me, Rose? These people love me as much as you did a minute ago.

They'd easily kill for me.

[Rose hears Tia in her head, lips pressing into a thin line as for the millionth time she curses the fact that people can talk in her head but she can't talk back, the point of the stake easing a little as she struggles with what to do.]

I don't want to fight you. [A Sense Motive of 10 or higher if he'd even care to know would suggest that she's actually telling the truth and it's not because she's scared of him. Rose holds her position for another moment before the weight of Tia's words are enough to influence her next move (Wis. 17) and she drops her hand, no longer playing the aggressor but doesn't step away from him either.]

Just stop what you're doing to him and we'll go. [Because yes Rose. Try to reason with the psychopath.]

[Archer's gonna use an action point to give this thing another go... and 15 + 2 = Archer's still fucked.]
