[ Those who had been at Jade's funeral would find all of this very familiar. The patron god of the temple is the same, though there are far less nods to Sehanine because Vi can be just as bitter and petty as her mother. As with many elven temples, the interior seems to look as it's carved from a single tree. The flowers, though, drowning the temple in their scent are just the same as Jade's funeral, oceans of white flowers of every kind. The only spot of color is the small handful of violets laid across the empty casket at the front of the room, resting atop a pure white cloth.

It's only there for show.

By the door, one of the alter boys (or the elven equivalent) passes out single white flowers to all the ladies that enter, the men as well if they want them, but this time Vi isn't forcing them to be taken. Soft, serene music lends a sanctified feel to the room.

It is disrupted however, by the murmur of voices as people stream in, filling the carved wooden pews as they wait for the service to begin. Luthir was a knight for over a century. There's a lot of people. ]

[ christos looks uncommonly bothered by this whole thing when he comes in. are those emotions that aren't annoyance on his face??? no, not at all, what are you talking about. he manages to spare some annoyance for the flower boys, because no, he's not taking a flower.

he wears his customary black, sorry funeral whites. nope. and moves to sit by jack. ]

[ dovan trundles in with his hair combed and everything, eyes rimmed with sadness as he accepts the flower with a nod and searches the room with his gaze for vi :( he'll move to take a seat by christos, murmuring and shaking his head. ]

[ lis'sa wears a pure white dress, and takes the flower without comment, moving down the aisle to sit on the opposite side from all those guys without making eye contact with anyone. a permanent frown is etched across her features, and she looks deeply upset in her own silent way. ]

[ fred shuffles in with both hands in his pockets, not even noticing the flower dispersal. he slides into the pew behind jack, christos, and dovan. ] Man... Hardly feels real.

[ francesca's dressed in white, as well, and while there's no tears, she's clearly grieving. she takes a flower, giving the flower boy a small smile, and moves to sit on dovan's other side. ]

[ yeah mark is already crying, whoops. he blinks back the tears as he looks around, because man this is all VERY FAMILIAR. he accepts the flower with dignity, and carries it all the way up to the front pew on the left, where he sits. ]

[ gar is right behind him, also wearing white, and she puts one hand on his arm as they move up to sit. her eyes rake across the gathered, and then linger on the altar up front. ]

[ kat looks uncomfortably upset as she moves in behind those two, looking at the flower for a good long moment before she takes it, as if accepting it makes this all real somehow. she's wearing a white dress, even, mark your calendars, and follows after those two, to sit by gar. ]

[finnick is here, wearing white and staying close to vi. :( poor vi. he also looks very sad bcuz even if he didn't know luthir that well, he knows exactly how much he meant to vi. and everything in life is horrible.]

[ anastacia looks sublimely beautiful in white, and accepts the flower with a smile that isn't diminished at all by the sad atmosphere. she looks around appreciatively, solemn but seeming at peace with the fact that it's a funeral. which i guess is in tune with the idea of elvish ones anyway. ]

[ faith has white as well, and comes in behind her mom, taking her flower and sticking it behind her ear, as they move to sit on the left hand side near lis'sa. she looks around for vi, but doesn't see her, and frowns a bit as she sits. ]

[ zero's face crumples as he looks around the room. he takes a flower with a little bit of attitude, like fuck anyone who is gonna judge him for having a fucking flower, and then he moves down to sit in the back, running a hand down his face. ]

[ Buffy's here in absolute silence, because in some ways she feels like she has no right to be next to others. But she cared about Luthir, too. And she cares about their suffering at losing him. She wishes she hadn't had the occasion to break out the dress from Jade's funeral again, but that's definitely what's happening. She sits towards the back. ]

[ lan wears his armor, as always, and makes a big clanking sound to signify his entrance. he heads up to sit on the other side of jack, solemn and silent, nodding to dovan as he passes, and patting him on the shoulder. ]

[ tia wears black, and sits by anastacia and faith, keeping her flower in her hands where she fidgets with it while they wait. ]

[valdrin]

[ val'drin's in white, and looks quite upset as he takes his seat by francesca, reaching over for her hand while staring up at the altar. ] Haven't missed anything, have I?

[ she takes his hand, allowing it to rest with hers in her lap. she looks down, shaking her head ] The service hasn't started yet.

[Spike still has the white clothes he wore to Jade's funeral, and he doesn't even complain about putting them on again, though it's still bloody weird. He takes the flower almost thoughtlessly and goes to sit down.]

[ max is wearing... what he always wears, whoops. leather jacket and jeans look out of place here, but whatever, he doubts luthir cares. he shoves both hands in his pockets, avoids looking at anyone, and sits in the back, a little ways down from buffy. ]

[ koraith is dressed in his knights' armor for this occasion, specially sized to his large half-dragon frame. he accepts the rose with a graceful nod and a thank you, and then heads up to sit by lis'sa. ]

[ and a rogue violet appears from a room in the back where she had been talking to an attendant about something or other and whining to myri and finnick. she's wearing the same not actually white dress as she'd been wearing at jade's funeral. recycling. she doesn't subscribe to funereal colors. fuck the police, basically. she looks sullen, but not incredibly weepy as she stares at all the npcs knights in attendance. the flower boy tries to give her a flower, but it wilts as he holds it out so she shakes her head and gently shoos him back to his spot. no flowers for her. with a sigh, she moves to the front of the temple where she will sit in the front pew, like a guest of honor. sandwiched between her besties. ]

[ Dawn isn't quite sure where she belongs here. She's here mostly for Violet, and as general support. This feels sadly and strangely familiar, given last July; she didn't know where she belonged there either.

She's wearing a white dress, and takes the offered flower before finding herself a spot somewhere in the middle of the pews. ]

[ wynn enters in one of his long fancy coats, this one white with silver inlays. he's certainly solemn, possessed of a grave sadness as he makes his way down the aisle. he pauses in front of vi, and reaches out to place one hand on her shoulder, before stepping to the front of the room and nodding to the priest.

the priest takes his place at the altar, and starts to conduct a prayer in elvish. ]

[ francesca bows her head at the prayer (assuming that's what's appropriate in the elven custom) and gives val'drin's hand another tight squeeze, a sad smile gracing her lips.

she's still holding the tears at bay, though, which is probably more than can be said for dovan. ]

[ it's all well and good until the priest says something like "such life" and vi snorts into her tissues because clearly the appropriate response to something as horrifyingly sad as her husband's death is giggles. ] Much sad. Very funeral. Wow.
