The pain had started the evening prior, but Hayley thought it was just the baby shifting around and deciding that it needed to move again. She kept track of them, but didn't think much of it. She hadn't ever gone to a doctor to get her exact due date. She knew roughly, but she wasn't sure if that would match up evenly once she had gone through the veil. By the middle of the morning, she's pretty sure that this is not just an odd feeling. She finds Rebekah and lets her know so that she can go figure out whatever needs to be figured out. The one thing that she knows is that her water hasn't broken yet, so that's a small favor.

She would be really okay with a few more small favors.

[She doesn't have many physical possessions where she has one of those nifty 'go-bag' things packed. It's not this rush of knowing exactly what to do either. Eve and her had gone through breathing and she thought that she'd be having her baby in the bayou or wherever Klaus had demanded it happen. Here it felt like a giant waiting game and now, as another contraction makes her abdomen go rigid, she knows there is no waiting.]

[I guess Klaus was called in for this, because he's there before everything goes down. Whether he will be there for the actual birth is up to Hayley. He's come around to accept the fact that she's carrying his daughter by now, but given their strained relationship even prior to his skepticism over her claims (not that he recalls any of it, I just assume she's filled him in--and if not her, then Rebekah), he figures she might be more comfortable with him waiting in another room.

Until she asks him to go, however, he's going to be a presence there. Deal with it.]

Are you certain I can't get you anything?

[consequence]

[As he offers, probably again, she shakes her head and waves him off. Though her waving hand actually progresses to gripping to his arm and squeezing as another contraction decides that now is a good time to twist her muscles. She knows she should breathe through them, but they feel like they're trying to separate her muscles into smaller pieces and that's not a good feeling at all.

As she exhales, she looks at him.] Rebekah's on her way. She said she'd be here.

[Klaus ain't sayin' shit, but he's not going to be holding his breath awaiting his dear sister's arrival. But he doesn't seem to mind when Hayley uses him as her stress ball through the contractions she's experiencing. The good thing about an Original holding your hand during pregnancy is that you can break that shit over and over again.]

You and my sister have grown close. [He's just making an observation and perhaps trying to get her mind off of what's happening idk.]

[consequence]

[She exhales slowly, nodding at his statement, that she's pretty sure was meant to be also a question.]

Us girls gotta stick together. [She says, quoting Rebekah.]

You're even starting to sound like her. [As though ... he had any idea what Hayley sounded like before. Whatever he knows his sister and her rah rah girl power trips ok.]

That was sort of a direct quote, if I'm honest. I've never really had family or really good friends and I think I'd consider Rebekah to both of them.

Well if what you claim is true, then you'd be right about being part of this family.

[consequence]

[she still isn't comfortable with the fact that he still doesn't believe that she's carrying his child, but she's not going to bring it up.]

I've been called family, but you don't seem very keen on agreeing with that.

[asuma]

I'm fiercely protective of those I consider to be my family. As I'm sure you're well aware.

Though from speaking to both you and Rebekah, it seems I may have had some trouble coming to terms with the idea.

That doesn't mean I'm opposed to it. I just want to be certain.

[consequence]

[Carrying... presently in labor ~ same thing.

Either way, she's just going to breathe for a moment and start to walk some more, because she probably doesn't have time to debate this right now.]

I get it, I do, but I'm trying to be kind and courteous and give you that space, but I'm having this baby and I'd like you to be a part of her life. So, you've got however long it takes me to have her to get certain.
