There are plenty of missions that return to the castle a success - most of them, even. The defeated air of the solemn group that returns from their diplomatic mission to Andres Isle to hear the demands of dictator Dimitris Sarandis makes it quite clear that this wasn't one of those.

Starting with Sarandis' actual demands - for all Knights to withdraw from Andres under penalty of death, or for Wynn to offer his own head in return for Thomas' safe return - and ending with the unexpected, disturbing confession from Kat that she intended to stay behind on the island because she had "fallen in love with" the dictator, the events of the island made it very clear that Sarandis was cannily playing his hand to get the Knights where he wanted them.

Fred Jr. shoves open the doors with his unnatural strength, stalking in ahead of the group into the lobby. Whoever's on desk duty isn't going to have to roll a high wisdom check to see that these people are pissed... and distraught... and a myriad of other emotions on the bad end of the scale.

*I am changing the date of the briefing log and Andres log/live session to have taken place in September, to avoid us being in backdated hell forever, and to allow for a September squiring ceremony before apps are closed. Carry on... in the future!

[Felicity glances to her, then back to the gear she's amassing on the bed in front of her. Then she nods in agreement.]

Good idea.

[she moves to the closet to grab where she stashed hers, before glancing back to Lila.]

Every girl's best friend.

I miss mine. [ she affects a pout. of course she replaced it once she had access to the armory here, but she was so fond of the one she had at home. it was just perfect. ] I used to use it to break out of the dorms.

[She smirks a bit at that.]

See? That is an appropriate use of one. They aren't just for rock climbing.

I bring one on basically every mission. Never know when you're going to have to scale the side of a building. [ she shrugs. it actually came in handy in scotland. lila is a boy scout: always prepared. ] And you're basically the super stealth, that'll probably be your mission.

[Felicity nods a bit. It's the area where she'd be most useful, so consensus is she's probably sneaking in somewhere.]

That sounds about right. It'll be nice to get back to my roots.

[bittersweeter]

And yet... you still won't get me the Crown Jewels. [ tsk tsk. she actually tsks. ]

[She laughs.]

We survive this? I'll revisit the Crown Jewels idea.

[No she won't.]

[bittersweeter]

You better. [ YOU BETTER, FELICITY. ] Anyway. Don't die, I guess. [ wow, lila, such emphatic emotion right there. look, she knows felicity feels her. ] I'd hate to go to your funeral, I would make such a scene.

[She laughs a bit, but she gets it.]

Don't worry. I'm not intending on making anyone weep over me anytime soon. Funerals are always such a buzzkill.

[bittersweeter]

[ without another word, she crosses to give felicity a brief hug. no dying. ] I'll be sure to make a scene if it does come up. You can count on me.

[ friend...ship? ]

[Felicity hugs her back, rubbing her back lightly. Definitely no dying.]

I knew I could trust you.

[bittersweeter]

I do what I can.

[She smiles a bit at that, before pulling back and giving her a smile.]

I've got to finish packing. But I'll see you at the briefing?

[bittersweeter]

Yeah. Later kotenok. [ with a smile of her own and a small wave she flounces out. felicity gets her own version of "later gator" because of her thief tendencies. ]
