There are plenty of missions that return to the castle a success - most of them, even. The defeated air of the solemn group that returns from their diplomatic mission to Andres Isle to hear the demands of dictator Dimitris Sarandis makes it quite clear that this wasn't one of those.

Starting with Sarandis' actual demands - for all Knights to withdraw from Andres under penalty of death, or for Wynn to offer his own head in return for Thomas' safe return - and ending with the unexpected, disturbing confession from Kat that she intended to stay behind on the island because she had "fallen in love with" the dictator, the events of the island made it very clear that Sarandis was cannily playing his hand to get the Knights where he wanted them.

Fred Jr. shoves open the doors with his unnatural strength, stalking in ahead of the group into the lobby. Whoever's on desk duty isn't going to have to roll a high wisdom check to see that these people are pissed... and distraught... and a myriad of other emotions on the bad end of the scale.

*I am changing the date of the briefing log and Andres log/live session to have taken place in September, to avoid us being in backdated hell forever, and to allow for a September squiring ceremony before apps are closed. Carry on... in the future!

I did volunteer. I'm kind of a huge proponent of "if there's something wrong, those who have the ability to take action have the responsibility to take action" concept. But National Treasure is, like, my favorite movie.

[ while she leads them to her room, which takes... a bit (nav 8), she taps her port to check her blood sugar and give herself a bolus because she went to college where thirsty thursdays were a requirement, she is so used to making sure she won't die it's become more of an instinctive action that any really forethought. ] There is a sequel, too, they kidnap the president. It's very... [ she pauses, for nicholas cage effect. ] Dramatic.

Oh, that's really sad. [ she reaches over to pat his arm. probably misses and pats his chest. she pulls to a stop in front of a door and holds it open for will. insert run of the mill squire room. it's fairly neat, at least clothes wise, they're all tucked into drawers or closets. there is a trunk at the foot of the bed, open with handcuffs, chains, locks, various and sundry escape artisty type paraphernalia tumbling out of it. the bed itself is unmade and one of her blankets is draped over the, let's say, love seat in front of the dresser she put her tv on. ] Here we are. You can sit or whatever while I put the movie in.

I'm just ... always busy. [said like he doesn't think it's that sad???? but he doesn't know all the gr8 movies he's missing out on. he'd probably ... still not be sad if he knew. oh well. he sits on a corner of the bed and looks sufficiently awkward.]

[ sitting on the bed, that's a bold move, cotton, let's see how it works out for him. alice is too busy putting the dvd in to really take stock on the situation but once she does, she just presses play and sits next to him like nbd because yay national treasure and she hasn't really absorbed the fact. ] Do you think we're going to die? I mean, does Andres scream violent suicide mission to you or was that some weird subtext I picked up like Johnlock?

[what's a johnlock????? no ... no, will, just ignore it. focus on the other part. he looks down at his lap.] Maybe. Sounds dangerous, like the odds are stacked against us. Maybe especially for me since, as noted, I'm incredibly unlucky. But I agree with you. I think if we can help, we should. I'm okay with dying if my death means something.

[ sweet she's not on the floor. i mean what, kissing, yes. her hand reaches out to rest again his chest, shirt fisting between her fingers. whiskey still tastes like fire, but at least she can see the appeal this way. ]

[ she squirms the tiniest bit, another instinct to protect her pump though since he's seen it and he's smart she has no doubt he isn't going to damage it with his sandy moorings. but the squirming brings her closer and since he's holding her now she doesn't feel the need to prop herself up, which leaves her other hand free to roam. specifically gain purchase against his shoulder, pulling herself closer still. ]
