There are plenty of missions that return to the castle a success - most of them, even. The defeated air of the solemn group that returns from their diplomatic mission to Andres Isle to hear the demands of dictator Dimitris Sarandis makes it quite clear that this wasn't one of those.

Starting with Sarandis' actual demands - for all Knights to withdraw from Andres under penalty of death, or for Wynn to offer his own head in return for Thomas' safe return - and ending with the unexpected, disturbing confession from Kat that she intended to stay behind on the island because she had "fallen in love with" the dictator, the events of the island made it very clear that Sarandis was cannily playing his hand to get the Knights where he wanted them.

Fred Jr. shoves open the doors with his unnatural strength, stalking in ahead of the group into the lobby. Whoever's on desk duty isn't going to have to roll a high wisdom check to see that these people are pissed... and distraught... and a myriad of other emotions on the bad end of the scale.

*I am changing the date of the briefing log and Andres log/live session to have taken place in September, to avoid us being in backdated hell forever, and to allow for a September squiring ceremony before apps are closed. Carry on... in the future!

Good. [She flashes him a smile that's more genuine, especially considering there's war on the horizon. She's not in terrible spirits, somehow.]

So all this war talk is crazy, right?

Yeah. It feels familiar for some reason though. [ his face scrunches up as she tries to remember and fails because HE REMEMBERS NOTHING GDI. ] Dunno why though.

Maybe you were a soldier before you came through the Veil. [Which is mostly a joke. Faye can't imagine Sean as a soldier. But he's a knight, so that's close enough.] Doesn't really feel familiar to me. Other than all the other times I've risked my life in this place. I think I'll take a vacation after. Almost being eaten alive, then immediately going to war? I think I deserve a trip to a beach or something.

[She tips her head back a little and looks over at Sean.] Want to be my cabana boy?

Nope. [The only person who would have known her was Diana but she was completely memory wiped too.] Sometimes I wish I did. I'm curious who I used to be. Or will be, I guess.

Someone here knows me. More than one someone, but. [ he shrugs. he hasn't met logan, so that's unimporant, no offense dude. ] I guess she knows me... in the future.

[ he looks... less than impressed, but not overly upset she had started strong but then started talking about people he didn't know. she said she would answer his questions and then... didn't. which is fine, he shook it off like taylor swift, he doesn't mind sticking with learning slowly and surely with colin. it bugs him that maybe he could have learned a bit more, enough that he wouldn't think he was a danger to his own team -- which is why he chose to sit out of the assault on andres, and telling that to his andresian mentor was something he didn't want to ever do again -- but whatever. he is a duck, it rolls right off his back. ]

{Faye looks slightly confused by that comment.]

No. [ scoff. ] I mean meeting people from "home" isn't all that great. Plus, I don't remember anything.

I don't remember anything either. I still haven't decided if it's worse to remember or not. But we can't change it, so I guess it's got to be about the memories we make here. [Wow Faye that was almost profound.]

Look it's not like anyone is likely to come check on the ballroom right before war.

She gives him a moment to take a good look before she basically pounces on him.]

Straddling his lap, she reaches between them to start undoing his pants. Look, they both know that shit is going down in the next 24 hours or so. Romance isn't really in the cards here. Nipping at his bottom lip, she pulls back from his mouth and lets out a chuckle.]
