The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).
The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.
Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

I don't know how it works, but he said he's been here for a lot longer than I have been and when I came here, he had still been in New Orleans, with me. So, I'm not really sure how else to explain it ... except magic is weird.

I don't know if I'd prefer thinking that I'm from a different dimension than him. [It was easier to just not think about it at all and actually try to deal with their differences in memories than try to figure out why it happened.]

Uh... sure. [Olivia is a bit fussy, but then Hayley realizes something.] I didn't catch your name -- just in case you decide to poof off in a cloud of smoke, I'll know who to go looking for. [She's teasing, of course, but she did actually want to know the woman's name before handing her kid over to her.]

Oh, it's okay -- I didn't mean it like that. I'm a werewolf, actually, and she's actually a hybrid. Vampire and werewolf ... but I asked, because she's going to outlive me by ... well, she's immortal, but I'm not. I just was curious about the age part.

luckily, on the outside, she appears just as calm as before, albeit a bit curious ] I'm not immortal, by any means. [ in fact, i just died like two years ago :') ] Just an extended life-span by human standards.
Forgive my forwardness, but I wasn't sure vampires could even... [ breed is probably not the appropriate word choice here ] reproduce.

Yeah, me either. [She takes a breath and reaches to touch her fingers to Olivia's foot.] It's the werewolf side that is the natural part of Klaus. He was born one and so was I. Where I'm from, vampires were first created through magic. So while there is a vampire side to him, that's just half of who he is.
The werewolf part... that's where the complication and the baby come into play.

I know of one vampire though. Actually, he's a close friend of mine. I could drop the name of your child's father and see if he's had any contact with him, if you'd like.

That's not needed. We've spoken, I just -- when I said he's here somewhere, I meant more... at this party. Not, somewhere in this world. I've seen him, not this evening yet, but he was present at the birth and helped me name her.
